Chapter 2

Caroline's POV

I woke up laying in a bed. I looked around and could tell it was mine. How I got here..I don't know. Last I remember I was outside the cave and Klaus was under some witchey spell by Bonnie. How did they find me? I rubbed my neck. Someone broke it and knocked me out.

I stood up slowly. I walked out of my room. It was dark outside still. I didn't know the time. I walked halfway down the stairs before I noticed the entire living room was destroyed. Everything had been thrown everywhere and holes were in the walls. I could hear someone scream from the other room. I walked in. Elijah was holding Rebekah at the table. She was sobbing into him. There were bottles of alcohol all around the kitchen, all empty. Elijah looked up. He looked terrible.

Bloodshot eyes, tear stained face, tired with bags under his eyes. Rebekah noticed me to. She took one look at me and sobbed again. Then I spoke

"Wh-where is Klaus?" I asked. "What happened here?"

"DON'T YOU MENTION HIS NAME!" Rebekah had sped in front of me and screamed into my face.

"Sister. Please. It will do nno good to blame." Elijah spoke. His voice tired and sad.

"Well she is to blame now isn't she? Isn't she?" Tears streaming down her face. "If he had not gone looking for her none of it would've happened!" She yelled.

"That is,, what is going on?" I asked.

"Caroline, what do you remember?" Elijah asked me.

"I was in a cave, with Mikael. I was stuck there. He wanted to know the location of Hope. I wouldn't tell him. I prayed and called out Klaus' name for three weeks." I said starting to tear up.

"Three..Three weeks?" Elijah asked, shock in his voice.

"Yes. I marked the wall. Everyday. Three weeks in the cave."

"Caroline..You have been missing for three months." Elijah spoke quietly.

"Wh-What? No..I know-I marked..I wasn't.What?" I asked stunned. How? It couldn't have been.."Elijah. What is going on Elijah?" I asked.

"Caroline, you have been missing for three months. You disappered one night. Kl-Klaus" He seemed to struggle saying his name. Where is he? Is he still with Bonnie? Elijah continues, "Klaus was out, taking care of business in the Quarter, with me. Rebekah and you, you were suppossed to go out. Have a girls night. She was going to meet you there. You never showed." He finished.

"Elijah, I don't remember any of this. I actually don't remember a lot, I guess. I don't remember arriving at the cave.." I drifted off. What is happening? I started panicking.

"It seems Mikael did something with your mind. What, I don't know. But I will find out. I promise I will find everything out." He seemed not to be talking about my memory any more.

"Elijah, I got out of that cave, I saw Klaus and Bonnie and then someone snapped my neck."

"Damon, Damon snapped your neck." He whispered. He was lost in thought.

"Elijah just tell me what's going on! Where is everyone? Damon and Stefan were there I remember."

"They returned to Mystic Falls. They were going back to tell everyone of the recent events. They got you back here safe. Kol and I we tried, we fought Mikael. His group was to strong for us. For Bonnie." He teared up, and the tears fell. I have never seen Elijah cry, what happened? "We tried Caroline, Klaus didn't back down, even when you were safe. He wanted to kill Mikael. Even though he succeeded in that, the outccome.." He trailed off. No. I thought..No..

"Elijah.Wh-what happened. What do you mean by outcome?" My tears were building, blurring everything. "Where is Klaus, Elijah?!" I yelled

"DEAD!" Rebekah screamed, tears smeared all over her face. "Niklaus is dead! And it's all your fault!" She yelled.
