♣Chapter 3♣ (UNEDITED)

"Worthy... No... How could you be worthy? You're all killers..." The voice said as I stared at the broken robot filled with pieces of another robot. Its blue eyes stared at me and I felt scared in the inside. Maria stood in front of me protectively.

"Stark" Steve warned

"Jarvis" Tony asked. No sound was heard

"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or...I was a dream?" the robot said, he seemed to be in a daze

" Reboot, Legionnaire, we got a buggy suit." Tony said as he pressed his fingers on a tablet. No response or movements.

"There was a terrible noise...and I was tangled in... in...strings." The robot continued, his voice low and chilling. Nerves were in my stomach now at his next words "I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy."

"You killed someone?" I asked, showing my face for the first time. The robot turned to me

"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world we're faced with ugly choices." the robot said as I looked down

"Who sent you?" Thor asked, the robot turned to him. A click sounded from inside him before a voice I knew by heart was played...replacing his chilling voice

"I see a suit of armor around the world" Tony...

"Ultron..." Banner realized looking at Tony

"In the Flesh" Ultron said before he gestured at his...well...form "Or, no, not yet. Not this...chrysalis."

He looked up at us "But I'm ready. I'm on a mission."

"What mission?" Natasha asked as I raised my hands slowly. Ultron titled his head to the side and stared at us coldly

"Peace in our time."

Suddenly Tony robots bursts through the windows causing the glass to shatter. One tackled me to the ground making me gasp.

"You interest me" it said as Natasha turned and saw me on the ground

"ASTRID!" She yelled as Steve pulled the robot off of me and threw it out of the window. Quick as a knife I raised my hands and 4 robots burned to the ground leaving a melted piece of metal behind each. After I lowered my hands the Ultron spoke up once more.

"That was dramatic" he pointed out "I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to...evolve?"

He picked up one of the broken robots on the ground and looked at it as he spoke up "With these? These puppets?" He smashed the robot's head before he spoke again making me feel sick to my stomach "There's only one path to peace: The Avengers' extinction."

Thor, in rage through threw his hammer at the robot causing it to shatter into pieces

"Is he gone?" Helen asked

I closed my eyes, I can still feel the electrical energy leaving. His energy...I opened my eyes.

"No, he's still alive" I said before I glared at Tony "God dang it Tony why..."

Meanwhile, in the lab I was sitting on a lab table playing with ice crystals when Bruce spoke up again.

"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch." he said as I swirled the ice crystal around my fingers

"Ultron..." Steve said, like he was testing the name out. I looked at Natasha as she turned around.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." she said as she walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder...knowing I was shaking....which meant I was scared.
