Killian's POV

We stood at the bottom of the staircase that we had used to come down to the dungeon. It was silent other than the quiet murmurings coming from down the hall.

Charming and Snow were talking to Emma, and I was on edge waiting for them to finish. They said they'd try to convince her to talk to me.

Finally I heard the door to the cell creak open, and two figures appeared in the hallway. I could barely make out their faces, but it was most definitely Charming and Snow. They looked worried; as they came towards me in the hall I could feel beads of sweat forming on my forehead.

"Killian, we talked to her and she said she'd talk to you. Just... be careful. She's been through a lot lately." Charming said as he rested his hand on my shoulder and gave me a push her way.

I blindly made my way down the hall, and finally reached her cell.

I slowly approached the doorway and could make out her silhouette sitting on a small bed at the back of the cell. As I got closer, I noticed she had her hands wrapped around her knees and her head rested on top of her knees. She looked at me but neither of us said a word.

"Swan..." I muttered, and sat next to her on the bed, making sure to keep my space between us. I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. She looked over at me, her eyes glossed over with tears.

"Killian, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, about all of this." Her voice shook and I could tell she was on the verge of tears.

That was it, there was no holding back. It had been too long.

I scooted towards her and set my hand on top of hers. She looked patiently into my eyes, she looked so vulnerable. I had never seen her like this before, and I couldn't bear to see her like this. She had saved all of us, and she didn't deserve to suffer.

"Hey." My voice was soft, "You don't need to be sorry about anything. You sacrificed yourself for all of us, and no matter what happens, we will get this darkness out of you."

She looked at me for a moment, and opened her mouth as if to say something, but instead she shut her mouth tight and turned away from me. I stared at her blond, messy hair for a few moments, not sure what to say.

"Swan... what's wrong? Why didn't you want to see me?" I knew I shouldn't have said it like that, but I couldn't hold it in any longer. I needed to know.

She turned towards me again, and her face looked even more concerned than before. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes were swollen and red with tears. Silent tears.

"Killian... look at me. Look at what I've become. It's... embarrassing. I didn't want you to see me like this. I couldn't bear to have anyone see me like this." We both held our breath for a moment, and I let her comment soak in. I squeezed her hand tighter, trying to reassure her.

"Swan, I said it once before and I will say it again, I'm a fan of every part of you. Even the darkest parts."

Finally, a small smile formed on her lips. She slowly lifted her hand to my cheek, and I took a deep breath as I felt her soft skin touch my face. I closed my eyes, ready for what came next.

Her soft lips touched mine and I leaned into her, resting my upper lip over hers, holding her waist. I sighed, and she leaned into me more. Her warm lips were a relief after not seeing her for so long, and my body buzzed with a feeling of hope. I took a deep breath, and opened my eyes to look into hers.

Suddenly, she jerked away and jumped off the bed, standing above me. I jumped up too, not sure what was going on. It was all so sudden. Did something go wrong? Does she not want to be with my anymore?

I backed away as I noticed something. Her eyes were slowly darkening, and within a few seconds both of her eyes were glossed over and dark black. They stared at me, her face void of expression.

My breathing became heavy as her expression became angry. She started to walk towards me, but something was wrong. It was like she was a robot, and her stride was very intent. Suddenly she yelled at me,

"This is all your fault!" She shrieked. Her beady black eyes stared right at me, and she came charging.

It caught me off guard and I tripped over myself, falling to the floor.
