Live life to the fullest. That's what my parents have always told me. I never knew what it meant, I just went along with it.
It hasn't had much meaning to me and I don't know if it ever will.
Before they passed, my parents were my ultimate role models. I followed everything they did, everything they believed in. They never questioned why something happened, not even the tragic events in our lives.
So, like my parents, I never questioned the universe on why things happen. I just learned to accept it and kept moving forward.
On the day that changed my life forever, everything that was important to me became useless. I dropped it all and abandoned it.
This was when I started questioning my existence, and anything my parents believed in.
I have no one in my life. My parents are gone and I'm left alone in a dangerous, confusing world.
The teens around here are sleep-deprived, obsessive about their appearance, and spend hours a day on Instagram. That's what high school is. Or what I am told it is. Luckily, I'm not in it. It sounds awful!
Almost my whole life has been devoted to my passion for dance. I attend an academy that teaches every type, even my favorites like tap and jazz.To spare you of the boring details, let's just say my whole life is revolved around dance and dance alone.
In our studio, we have this team that competes against the best of the best dancers. They're the Elite dancers from the Elite Dance Team. I want to be on Elite so bad, it gives me gray hairs.
They're so amazing, I've heard that they're the undefeated champions.
Once I reach 15 years of age, I am eligible to audition for Elite Dance. I've been keeping track of the calendars around the academy, but I'm still not old enough. If I can make it in next year, that would make me feel very accomplished.
But more importantly, I'd be making my parents proud. I'd do anything just to make them proud of me. I know I can.
And I will.
