Chapter 26

Hotaru POV
After we left, I met up with Ruka. I think something is wrong with me, I- I asked my brother about why my heart starts beating fast but he said there was nothing wrong. But every time I see Ruka my heart starts beating really fast. When we met up he asks more like stuttered if I wanted to go out with him and tears started forming in my eyes and I said that I will. We gave each other the kiss of promise and left together holding hands while my head rested on his shoulder.

The next day I got a knock from my door and it was my brother. "It's Mikan! She's gone, Na-Natsume tried to stop her but failed. But she left this," I was distraught as he said that and he handed me a letter. It was addressed to me. I quickly opened it and read out loud.

To Hotaru,

I'm going to find someone. Please don't come looking for me. And if it's Hotaru I'm going to find Rai. Remember him and remember the promise I made to him when we were 7 yeah... So yeah. If you want to find me look to where we first met as friends.

I stared at the paper. "No! It can't be!" Clutching the letter making it crippled. "What's wrong? Hotaru," asked my brother. I grabbed his hand and pulled him into my room and headed towards my laptop. I let go of his hand and turned the laptop on. Rai Welding Zing I hacked and searched on findtheperson.com and it came up with his picture. "He's a maniac! Killed one of our classmate when that person tried to flirt with Mikan when we were 7 but Mikan and her grandfather were on holiday at grandfathers sisters house (Mikan's Grandfather) so she didn't know anything about it. He left but before she went on holiday he proposed to her but as an idiot she accepted," I explained.
I turned my computer at him with a picture of Rai. "Knowing Mikan, she would never break a promise," I croaked. He nodded and said "We need to inform this to the Principals." I nodded and I looked at my clothes and I was still in my nightgown. He noticed and said "I'll wait outside," he stood up and left. I quickly went to my wardrobe and put on some clothes not caring what it is. I sprayed some dry shampoo on my hair and put pills inside my mouth for 'feel full for longer!'

I went outside with my laptop and summoned my Giraffe car, we got on and rode to the HSP office.

When we got there I saw Natsume tied to a chair wearing my bracelet that turns off alices and Sakurano, Shiki as well as Ruka was in there as well. "I need to find Mikan!" He shouted as I came in. My brother and I bowed our heads ignoring Natsume's complaining. "HSP we need to talk to you about Mikan," my brother said.
"Go on," replied Principal Yukihara. "When Mikan regained her memories she remembered something. And she's out to look for him," I said.
"Who!" Shouted Natsume I pulled out my Baka Cannon and blasted him with it and turned back to the principal. "She's gone to find a maniac!" I opened my laptop and showed him the picture of Rai. "Why's she finding him?" He asked.
"Mikan'll never break a promise. You all might be wondering what that promise is!" They all nodded except brother. "Her fiancé..." I continued and tears started pouring down my face and I pretended not to notice it. "What!" Shouted Natsume. I shot him three times again. "She was an idiot back then! You can't blame her!" I screamed. Then I felt arms around me and someone whispering "It's alright Hotaru,"
"Ru-Ruka," I whimpered. "Mikan to-told me to meet up, none of you must not follow me."
"I don't care what she says I'm going too!" Reckoned Natsume. I held up the Baka Cannon but was later put down by Ruka shaking his head. "Don't worry... Go... We'll keep an eye on him."
"Thank you Ruka," I felt relief. "May I have permission from you Principle Yukihara and Shiki?" They both nodded as I knew they were doing it for Mikan's sake. I ran out the room hearing Natsume's complaining down the corridor.

When I returned to my room I read the letter once again.

To Hotaru,

Where we first met as friends... Hmm... It was near a graveyard, below the Sakura Tree. That's it! I started to pack the things I needed and used my shrink ray to shrink it to tiny pieces and placed them into a backpack along with ready made seafood meals. When I was ready I got out my room and saw Ruka outside my door. " Hey Ruka." I greeted him. He grabbed my arm and dragged me to the dorm rooftop. Up there I saw his eagle "Go on he won't peck," Ruka said giving me a push. I walked up to the eagle and started to stroke it. Soft. I got onto its back and the eagle turned towards Ruka "Take care of her okay," he says to the eagle. We flew off after a few seconds of staring.

Mikan POV
I was still flying and the sun is still isn't up. My head started aching really badly. "Ugh!" I groaned clutching my head. I need to rest for a bit. I used my particle Alice to change the density of clouds and I laid down and slept.

I woke up to the sound of loud flapping. I turn towards the sound and saw Hotaru riding... Ruka's Eagle! "Hotaru over here!" I called out to her. She turned around and saw me sitting on a cloud. I smiled at her and she guided the eagle towards me. "Is it safe for me to come on?" She aske and I nodded. The eagle landed on the cloud and she got off and ran towards me. I expected a hug from her but I got hit by the hoof siblings. "Ite!" I screamed, I rubbed my head to ease the pain. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" She shouted at me.
"I want to fulfil my promise to Rai, I can't do this anymore but... You know me... I can't break a promise," She looked at me with worried eyes "Do you have the memory processing alice?" She asked. I simply nodded. "Then use it on me." She demanded. I stared at her in shock. Is she finally declaring that she needs me. My eyes sparkling with excitement, a wide grin on my face I nodded enthusiastically. I then touched her forehead and gained the memories that has been troubling her. I took my own hand and held it near my chest. "Mikan? Are you okay?" Hotaru asked. I grabbed her shirt shouting at her "If Rai is like that we should help! Shouldn't we!"
"Whatever makes you happy Mikan, but is that what you really want?" She replied. I nodded. "I'll show you where he is." Hotaru said.

We arrived at a mental hospital just a few miles away from our home town. I gripped on Hotaru's hand while Ruka's Eagle was walking with us. I thought it would be quite a shock if people see a two meter eagle so I used my invisibility Alice to hide him but only Hotaru and I can see him. We walked inside the building and went towards the reception where a young boy in his mid 20s was sitting typing on the computer. "Excuse me young man but we would like to visit a certain young man in this hospital." I said in a posh voice. "Yea... Just a second." As he finished his work with a full stop he turned towards us "What can I do for you."
"We would like to visit Rai. Rai Welding Zing." I replied.
"Yeah just a second," he went back to the computer and searched up Rai's name. "Excuse me ladies but he is not allowed to be visited by anyone." I gritted my teeth and suddenly used my voice pheromone alice "Oh please he is a very dear friend of ours," he nodded and if YOU look really closely into his eyes you would see heart shapes. He stood up and said "Would you like to follow me ladies." We both nodded and I saw in the corner of my eyes Hotaru holding the Eagles' wing. After a few minutes of walking we ended up in front of a steel cell door. A girl came to us with a basket and asked us to take of all metal and sharp objects. We obeyed and they opened the door with a card key and we went inside.
