Chapter 14

NICK'S POV

What kind of important Matter that mr. Joe needs to imform me about my wife?. Did something happened to alex? Amd who the hell is this joe guy? Why does he know my wife?

Question after questions run through my head.

A couple of minutes mr. Joe knocked at my door and he let him self in and walked towards my desk as i sat properly in my chair and fixed my blazer.

"gud afternoon mr. Cross, nice to finaly meet, im mr. Joe an investigator" joe said as he reach for a hand for me to shook it.

I stood up and shook his hand before signaling him to take a sit.

"thanks for the offer but i wont take long mr. Cross"

"an investigator, you said?..." when he nodded i continued " of what and who sent you?" with Annoyance palpable in my voice.

" i cant say mr Cross its a matter of a privacy for my client but i was ordered to give this to you and let you know about this" and with that he put a brown envelope in my desk and i looked at it blankly?

"what that for?" i asked in irritation

"its about your wife sir" he said in a serious tone.

"what about alex?" i said a little irritated.

" you better open that envelope sir for further question amd so that you will know all the details you need about your wife" he said like he was annoyed and reaching for a brown envelope and putting it on my desk.

"excuse me sir. But your three p.m appointment is ready" Anna's voice filled my office interrupting us.

"okay im on my way just give me a couple of sec." i said while glaring at mr. Joe.

"okay sir." she said and disappeared.

"so, i think its my cue to take my leave. Thank you for your time mr. Cross" mr. Joe said while walking to the door but stopped as he heard my voice.

" wait! What is your name again?" i asked to get his full name for me to investigate where this joe works.

"king joe mr.cross" he saod while smiling and with that he left my office.

When he left my office, i just stared at the envelope on my desk, begging for me to open it.

Instead of opening it i put the envelope in one of my drawers in mu desk and locked for no one to see it.

And i prepared my self for my three o'clock meeting.

Putting my blazer back on and fixing and adjusting on my body. And i took a deep breath to prepare my self.

After the meeting

After the meeting i talked to some of my board members and had coffee,  we talked and we laughed.

Even though my mind wasn't a hundred percent on them because it realy irritates me becaise of the fucking envelope.

After that. I came back to my office and checked for my e-mails and i responded while a couple of times my eyes divert to the drawers where i put the evelope.

A couple of hours, I may lost track of time because it was already ten in the evening and alex may be getting ready to sleep or probably already sleeping in our room.

I arranged my things that i should bring in house to finish some paper works since its weekends and i will probably finish it all in my office in our house.

I called my driver to get the car ready and before i leave i opened one of drawer where the envelope was in amd put it on my briefcase and left my office and took the elevator down to the lobby.

When the elevator dinged and the door opened i saw my driver opening the back sit door for me to enter and i walked towards the car and gave him a nod and with that i slipped inside the car and a couple of sec. The engine roared to life and we drove to my home.

When we came to stoped outside our house o took a deep breath and left the car and walked toward our house and went to my office to drop my briefcase before checking on alex.

I walked towards the stairs to the hallway that leads to our room and when i entered our room.

And what i saw took my breath away.

There laying on the center on our bed. Laying flat on her back, one hand resting on top of her breast and the other is like she's protecting something on her stomach, i laugh silently Nd grinned at the sight of her. She looks so innocent, beautiful, adorable, and cute.

I walked towards her and standing beside her looking down at her lovingly and and i bent down to move away her hair that laying on her forehead amd cheeks.

She stirred but didnt wake up and i smiled again and kiss her on her cheeks and on her forehead and i left and walk down to my office.

While walking down. I remove my blazer and left it on the couch and rolled up my sleeves and loosen my tie.

I open my door to my office and sat on my chair. And i tought that its about time to open the envelope.

I reach for o my briefcase and pulled
out the envelope that i didnt know that it may change my life.....maybe forever.

I know you may hate me for not updating soon enough. Because i got so busy in school but its okay now becaise our sembreak just started so now my problem is i have to find a free wifi huhuhuhuhu....but i'll try my very best to find one.
