Shuhei's P.O.V
My head kept spinning with questions as Kazumi and I made our way to the world of the living. Who is she really? And how powerful was she really? It was obvious that Kazumi had some power to her, but in all honesty I didn't think that she was as powerful as a captain or more powerful than one. Not until Captain Soi Fon said something the night of the party. I glanced over at Kazumi and observed her. It was obvious that Kazumi was holding back a lot, and a lot more than just her powers. But what exactly was she holding back?
"You know staring is rude, Shuhei" Kazumi said, her lips lifting up into a half smirk. My cheeks instantly turned red. I tore my gaze from her and continued to look forward.
"Sorry" I mumbled. Kazumi didn't say anything; she just let out a slight chuckle. We continued to run until a light appeared at the end of the long tunnel. "Finally" I said, letting out a relieved sigh. I heard Kazumi laugh.
"Oh come on, it wasn't that bad" she said. I rolled my eyes at her, even though I knew that she couldn't see it,
"Yeah, yeah, let's just get this mission over with already" I told her. I noticed out of the corner of my eye Kazumi's smile faded. I glanced over at her and gave her a questionable look.
"It's nothing Shuhei" Kazumi answered. I knew she was lying though. The tone of her voice gave her away. But I didn't push any further, I didn't want to annoy her. "Let's make our way over to Kisuke's" Kazumi said as she jumped into the light. I quickly followed after her. Kazumi was quick on her feet. It was impressive. My eyes glanced around. So this was Karukura Town. I honestly never had been here before. It was nice, for a place that was so crowded. I continue to follow Kazumi to Kisuke's place. Kisuke use to be a soul reaper, and a captain at that. Until he was banished for his crimes, but even though he was banished the soul society still worked with him when things like this occur. After all Kisuke doesn't have his powers anymore. He lost them when he left the Soul Society. So he wasn't much use when hollows appear.
"Is it me, or does something seem wrong?" I asked her suddenly. I noticed it as soon as we stepped through the portal that something terribly wrong was going on here.
"It's not just you Shuhei. I noticed it too. We might want to act quickly on it, but let's get the details from Kisuke first" Kazumi answered. I nodded my head in agreement. But that didn't help the overwhelming sensation in the pit of my stomach that something was really, really wrong here. But what exactly was going on here? It was obvious that it was more than just some random hollows appearing out of nowhere and causing trouble. No, there's more to it than that. But what exactly that was, I had no idea.
Azien's P.O.V
"Things are going just smoothly, aren't they Lord Azien?" A voice questioned. I knew who had entered the room before they even got close. My lips curved upward in a sadistic smile.
"Yes, it looks like our obstacle is out of the way. Now we can get back to our plan" I told them as I turned around and looked at them. Gin smirked. However, Kaname looked uneasy. "Kaname, my dear friend, what seems to be the matter?" I questioned him. Kaname slightly shifted.
"Nothing my lord" Kaname answered. My eyes narrowed.
"I don't like being lied to Kaname" I told him, annoyance lacing my tone. Kaname's lips parted slightly, a heavy sigh escaping them.
"I just never expected Kazumi to come back to the Soul Society. Do you think that she remembers?" Kaname questioned. I noticed Gin's smirk disappearing. He became to look as just as concnered as Kaname.
"Ahhhh, so that's the problem here. You're worried about your friend" I said, rolling my eyes. "Don't worry Kaname and Gin; I made sure that Kazumi will never remember the night of the attack on her brothers and her friends" I reassured them. Gin's eyes narrowed.
"I'm curious about something Lord Azien" Gin questioned seriously. I averted my gaze from Kaname over to Gin. My eyebrow rose in a questionable look. I didn't say anything, however, I just waited for him to finish. "That night that we attacked Kazumi's brothers and her friends, you were planning on killing everyone. So why is it that you didn't plan on killing Kazumi? I understand that none of us planned on her being there, that she just appeared out of nowhere. But why weren't you going to get rid of her like you were planning on getting rid of the rest?" Gin questioned. I noticed Kaname stiffen and his ears perk up. It was obvious that both of them have been thinking on this for quite some time. I guess I should give them the truth.
"You are quite right Gin, none of us planned on Kazumi being there. It was actually quite a surprise indeed. But you both want to know why I never planned on killing Kazumi?" I paused. Gin and Kaname both nodded their heads. The smile on my face grew. "That's quite easy. It's because of Kazumi's secrets."
"What secrets? Kazumi doesn't really have any secrets. She's the most opened and honest person that I have even known" Kaname said. Gin nodded his head in agreement. I rolled my eyes at the both of them.
"That's where you are both very wrong. See we all know that Kazumi has a lot of power, power that goes far beyond some of our captain's here in the Soul Society. One day I got curious as to how much power Kazumi had. So I snuck into the hidden training grounds that her and Head Captain Yamamoto met at and trained. And I overheard something's that really got me interested in her. Actually that got me interested in using her" I told them.
"What do you mean?" Gin questioned. I couldn't help but let out a slight laugh.
"Kazumi isn't just the little sister of Kensei. No, she and Kensei have different fathers. But no one knew this and no one was supposed to know this. Hell I doubt that Kensei, her own brother, knew of this little secret. Kazumi is the daughter of the one and the only Soul King. And because she is the daughter of the Soul King she has more than just one Zanpakuto. As we all know Kazumi has the rarest Zanpakuto in the entire Soul Society, Dark Hell Wind; which can control death and even hell itself. However, I do not know what her other Zanpakuto is. The only person other than Kazumi herself that knows about her other Zanpakuto is the Head Captain himself" I explained. The room fell silent, so silent that if someone dropped a pin it would echo around the entire room.
"So you want to use Kazumi for her powers?" Kaname questioned, breaking the silence. I let out a loud laugh, causing it to boom around the room.
"You've caught one quickly Kaname" I paused, unable to control my laughter. "Of course I want to use Kazumi for her powers. Kazumi is the only one that can get into the realm of the Soul King without the key. And she can be very useful when I try and overtake him and take his throne for myself" I finished.
