Shuhei's P.O.V

"Do you have everything that you need, Shuhei?" Captain Tousen asked me as soon as I stepped into the office. I readjusted my bag to my shoulder and nodded my head at him, even though he couldn't see me doing that I know that he sensed it.

"Yes Captain" I told him. Captain Tousen nodded. He quickly finished writing his report and then set his pen down.

"Remember you and Zumi are just going to the World of the Living for a couple of days to clear out some hollows that have appeared out of nowhere. No one is really sure why they keep appearing, but it's apparent that something is attracting them. So if you two could find out what exactly is attracting these hollows to Karakura town while you are there, that would be greatly appreciate as well" Captain Tousen spoke. I nodded my head, and bowed slightly at him.

"I will do my best Captain" I told him, standing up and turning around. I grabbed the door and slide it opened, slowly walking out.

"Oh and another thing, Shuhei" Captain Tousen spoke before I could close the door behind me. I looked over at him questionably, not saying anything, just waiting for him to finish what he was saying. "Please be careful and please take care of Zumi. I trust you not to let anything bad happen to her" Captain Tousen finished. My lips curved upward in a smile.

"I promise you that I will not let anything bad happen to her Captain. You can count on me" I told him. Instead of saying anything Captain Tousen nodded his head in understanding. I closed the door behind me, gripped my bag a little tighter, and flash stepped towards the gates where I was meeting Kazumi.

I was highly nervous and my heart was rapidly pounding in my chest. Ever since I met her, she's had this effect on me. It was confusing since I have never felt this way before. What is it about her that makes her so different from everyone else? I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath, releasing it slowly. I had to calm down before she got here, otherwise she might think that something is wrong.

"I'm sorry I'm late. I overslept" Kazumi said, appearing out of nowhere. I couldn't help but let out a slight laugh.

"That's quite alright, last night was a long night" I told her. Kazumi looked over at me and smiled.

"Yeah it was. It was fun though. I'm still surprised that lil Byakuya actually let people over, especially for a party" Kazumi said, letting out a laugh. My eyebrow raised in a questionable manner.

"Lil Byakuya?" I questioned. Kazumi nodded her head, another slight laugh escaping her slightly parted lips. Her laugh was causing my heart to do cartwheels. I really needed to get control over this.

"Yeah, I've known Byakuya since he was a little kid" Kazumi said, shrugging. My eyes narrowed a little bit. The feeling over being overly jealous bubbled in my chest.

"I see" I said, my tone laced with annoyance. I turned around and walked towards the gates, not caring if Kazumi was following or not. I hated that I was becoming this type of person, especially over someone that I hardly even know.

"Hey, wait!" Kazumi called. I could hear her footsteps slamming on the ground; she was running to catch up to me. "Shuhei did I say something wrong?" Kazumi questioned me as soon as she caught up. I shook my head.

"I just want to hurry up and get to the World of the Living so we can take care of everything" I told her. I noticed out of the corner of my eye Kazumi's eyes narrowing. It was obvious that she didn't believe me, but she didn't question me any further. Instead we stopped at the gates, checked in with the guards, and waited for the doors to open.

Kazumi's P.O.V

I felt sick to my stomach, and not because I drank so much last night at the party, but because I was getting ready to go back to the World of the Living. Karakura town is the town that my brother and the rest of them are staying. I wanted to go and see them again, but that would be impossible with Shuhei there with me. I didn't want anyone to know that they were still alive, that would honestly cause a lot of problems for them and for me. And I didn't want to put them in that predicament. They already have so much to worry about now; I didn't want to add more to their plates. I let out a heavy sigh, causing Shuhei to look over at me questionably.

"I'm okay" I told him. He didn't say anything, just nodded at me. I couldn't help but feel like something was off about him today. At first it seemed like he was happy to see me, but in a split second his entire mood and demeanor changed. I wonder if it was because I told him how I knew Byakuya. I quickly shrugged it off. I didn't need to worry about anything more than I already am. I already have so much weighing on my shoulders to the point where it feels like I'm drowning. I don't think that I could handle much more.

"Alright, you both are all set to go. Good luck!" One of the guards said. Shuhei and I didn't say anything to him, just nodded our heads. The doors to the gates slowly opened. But as soon as they opened, we both quickly flash stepped into the gates and made our way to the World of the Living. I was excited and nervous at the same time. It seems like there was a whirlwind of emotions swirling around inside of them, to the point where it felt like I was going to explode. Karakura town, here we come!
