"Gather 'round!" Ryuja yelled as the squad reluctantly "gathered 'round".

Although there were only three of us including Ryuja, after our last fight.

Jiryu and Hanzou didn't make it. As they were ambushed and taken out. Apparently.

I frown as I notice Ryuja, our leader's hand on his weapon.

I did the same, for safety purposes.

Suddenly he drew his sword and I stepped back, pulling Sarah back as well.

"Ryuja!" Sarah shouted in surprise.

I narrowed my eyes, "what's the meaning of this, leader?"

Ryuja smirked. "What do you mean...?"

I suddenly noticed his protruding teeth- er fangs and glowing red eyes.

My eyes widened with recognition.

"You filthy vampire...!" I scowled as Sarah backed away from him.

'I must say... You're quite offensive to your own kind.'

'I must say... You're quite talkitive aren't you.'

"W-what? H-how?!" Sarah stammered, frightened.

"Since our last mission, honey!" He threw his head back laughing as I scowled, keeping my act up.

"Have you thrown away your honor?!" I shouted as he abruptly stopped laughing and looked at me with a serious expression.

He cocked his head to the side and smiled wickedly. "What honor? There was no such thing at a place like that!"

I inwardly sighed. Such a handful.

"So...? You're going to betray us? If you do where will you return to?! The vampires? Back to the company?!" Sarah shrieked at him making me flinch.

Her shrieks are so ear splitting...

"Sarah... I don't mean anything like that." His face fell for a second. And then twisted into an ugly smile, "as if!"

"You're a wicked being Ryuja." I declared as I pointed my sword at him.

"Rei...! What are you doing?!" Sarah said in surprise.

"I'm... Carrying out my mission."

"But- Ryuja he... How could you?" She said confused.

"You think it's easy for me?! He's our leader... Whom we put trust into...!" I said with tears streaming down my face.

I've gotten pretty good at this crying on demand.

"Haha! Look at you two! Pathetic." Ryuja's face showed that of sympathy.

"... Shut up, vampire." I said coldly.

He narrowed his eyes at me, "you know Rei... I've always hated people like you... Putting their duty above their feelings!"

'Ha! Doesn't that hit close to home-'

'Not now.'

He charged at me with his heavy sword. I dodged as I aimed for his back. He blocked with his sword and kicked my in the gut, sending flying.

This would be over in exactly 7 seconds. If only I could rely on my strength.
