Kurt Wagner was wondering about what type of powers and what type of situation he'd likely be facing in the near future. Would it be a matter of recruiting someone who had developed a new ability or stopping someone who'd lost control? Would he be reaching out to someone who wanted to use their powers to help other people or to someone whose motives were selfish? Would it be a peaceful or violent encounter? Whatever it was, the Professor must think he or his powers were of use since he was the one on his way to the Cerebro room. The X-Men and women at Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters were only ever permitted into the Cerebro room when the Professor was informing them of a task ahead, a mission as it's often referred to.

The door to the Cerebro room was one of several doors in the mansion that was biologically locked. Only the Professor could open it. So, Kurt pressed the button that functioned similarly to a doorbell and waited for the Professor to disengage the lock. The button activated the camera aimed out at him or anyone else standing there pressing the button, and allowed those inside to see who was outside the door.

The door clicked and hissed as it opened to let him in. He crossed the smooth, metallic span between the door and the platform in the center where he could see the back of Professor Xavier's hairless head. Hundreds of curved monitors displaying mutant activity wrapped around the spherical chassis of the room, but the one on the screen at the control station was the one the Professor was focused on. Except, when Kurt looked, all he could see was a row of houses along a side street with little activity of any kind.

"This is the view from the traffic camera down the street." The Professor motioned to the monitor. "It's the closest camera to the residence of Sorin Germoglio, who may be in need of our assistance."

"Vhat kind of assistenz?"

"From the information I've gathered," the Professor rested his elbows on the arms of his wheelchair and pressed the tips of his fingers together in a steeple-like way. "It seems his father is a violent man. Sorin's recently developed ability to phase out of the visible spectrum is likely associated with a desire to escape that abuse. Which may or may not have started when his parents discovered his altered appearance. I have already tried reaching out to the parents to encourage them to send Sorin here, but they appear to see 'our kind' as a plight on humanity that needs to be 'taken care of'." The Professor frowned. "Which is why I am sending you to retrieve him. I have already made arrangements for Sorin to become a ward of the Institute, but it is ultimately Sorin's choice. He'll be eighteen in a couple months, so he may wish to go it alone. Logan will be going with you to handle the parents. He's already headed out to get a vehicle, so you may wish to hurry before he has to wait long. Which is," the Professor trailed off.
