Kurt knocked on the door of the medical wing as he looked in for Dr. McCoy.

"Herr McCoy, ve have a new member at das Institut."

"Come in. Come in. I'll be right with you!" Dr. McCoy answered Kurt. The boys walked in to see Dr. McCoy's large, fuzzy blue figure off to the right, trying to carry a few dozen books. He looked over his shoulder and noted the presence of the two. "Give me a moment to put these back where they belong. " Dr. McCoy turned back to the bookshelf and resumed his task.

"Reorganizing?" Kurt asked as he sat on a chair in the sitting area. Sorin followed suit, choosing the chair furthest from Dr. McCoy.

"No, no, Kurt. They are quite organized. Just a bit of cleaning up." Dr. McCoy spoke as he placed the books onto the shelf. He placed the last handful and smiled at Sorin, his white doctor's coat swaying as he turned.

"Welcome! I am Dr. Hank McCoy, but do feel free to call me Hank. And what name do you go by?" He extended his hand.

"Sorin."

"Well it is great to meet you, Sorin. Don't be shy. I know I am quite the sight but I assure you I am not as unruly as my naming convention suggests."

Sorin stood and tentatively shook Dr. McCoy's large, furry, blue hand, shooting Kurt a confused look.

"Everyone here gets a name based on their abilities. Herr McCoy is called Beast. Und I am called Nightcrawler," Kurt translated.

"Oh," Sorin looked more optimistic. "Will I get one?"

"By the time you go on missions, if you choose to partake in such events, you will have a nickname of your own," Dr. McCoy assured him. "They are quite the popular thing around here. So, you are here, I presume, for your entrance check-up?"

Sorin nodded again.

"Well let's get started then, shall we?" Dr. McCoy said as he motioned to a table covered with sheer paper. Sorin went over, turned his back towards it, and lifted himself so he was sitting on the table. He began to swing his legs forward and back. Dr. McCoy pulled a clipboard with paperwork off his desk and Kurt moved to the guest chair beside the table.

"Why don't you fill this out for me as best you can." Dr. McCoy handed the clipboard to Sorin and habitually pulled the curtain around the area closed, though they were the only ones there. Dr. McCoy moved over to the cabinets around the sink and Sorin began to scribble away at the paperwork. As Dr. McCoy gathered what he needed from the cabinets and drawers he asked,

"What can you do, Sorin?"

Sorin put the clipboard down and waited until Dr. McCoy turned his head to look at him before fading from sight.

"Some sort of light refraction camouflage or perhaps a cellular transparency. And you appear to have control. How long have you been able to do this?"
