I'm startled out of my sleep by banging in the hallway.
Me and Sabine have both been sharing a room since Kanan let me join the Ghost. I slept on the top bunk, she slept on the bottom.
Sleepily, I accidentally fell out off the top and landed on the floor, where I fell into Sabine's new painting on the floor. Which was still wet. I stood up and inspected myself. I was now covered in red paint. I had no idea what the painting was supposed to be now, some sort of red blob?
I glanced toward her bunk. It was empty, thank goodness. I really don't want to admit to her that I accidentally ruined her painting right now. Hopefully she wouldn't be too mad.
I stumbled to the door and opened it. There was Ezra and Zeb, chasing Chopper down the hallway with various tools. What in the world..?
Chopper practically plowed through me to get into the room and hide behind me. "Oh hey, good morning- OH MY GOSH WHAT HAPPENED?!" Ezra yelped.
I glanced down at myself. I had forgotten about the red paint for a second.
"I forgot to tell you. Somehow, in the middle of the night, I fought this bloody battle and got back here before anyone else woke up."
"You don't have to be so sarcastic." Zeb said, sighing. "I can see Sabine's paint from here."
"I can feel the love radiating off of you." I said, sitting down in a chair, also smearing it with paint.
"There you go again." Zeb said, rubbing his head. "I need to get away from you kids right now." He left the room, walking down the hallway. I could hear him grumbling about something.
"How exactly did you fall into a bright red painting?" Ezra said, folding his arms.
I glared at him. "It happens when two people chasing a droid make a lot of noise. Normally, the people on the top bunk roll off and land on the floor."
Ezra looked embarrassed. "About that.... Chopper thought that he could shock me and get away with it. I had to show him what happens, so.." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Anyway, everyone else is already up. You should get ready, we have training today."
"Training?" I look up at him. A billion things flashed through my mind at once. "Oh, yeah." I think. "I'm force sensitive."
"You do remember what happened yesterday, right?" He says. "Did you hit your head when you fell out of bed?"
"Quiet, you." I said, standing up. "I'm not a morning person. I will get paint on you." I take my hand, dripping with red paint, and hold it up threateningly. He walks out the door, hands up.
"Okay, okay, just hurry up!"
The door closes behind him, and I start to get ready for the day. I walk into the bathroom, and look into the mirror. Same long black hair, same green eyes.
How was it possible to still look the same, but feel so different?
My world had literally come crashing down. I couldn't return to Lothal, and even if I could, it woud never be the same again. Would anything?
My life had turned upside down the day I ran into Ezra Bridger.
I turn away from the mirror, thinking about my options. I could still leave them. I could turn back. But what good would that do?
I try to leave those thoughts behind as I get ready for the day.

"You already had a break through earlier, so this shouldn't be as hard." Kanan tells me, as I focus on lifting a cup off the table. Even though it's small (just a paper one), I'm still having trouble. Sweat drips down the back of neck.
