Okay guys, before we continue, I just gotta say something.
Thank you everyone who has been reading this!!! It means a lot to me!!!! Without you guys, I wouldn't continue writing this story.
Also, I was looking through a few previous chapters, and it looks like I'm moving a bit too fast. Sorry if the story seems like it's just skipping over itself or something.. I'm still working on improving my writing. 3 years ago I didn't even know how to use quotation marks when someone was speaking. XD
Read on, my friends.
"Hera, something's out there!" I yell, running into the bridge, with Ezra right behind me.
Hera is sitting in the pilot's spot as usual, and she doesn't look up as we come in. "I know." She says, pressing a few buttons. "They came on the radar a while ago."
"Then why aren't we gone already?" Ezra asks, sounding a bit panicked. I watch Hera, as she continues to violently press buttons and look at screens.
"Because for some reason, the hyper drive doesn't want to work." Hera explains, sighing. "I've been trying to enter coordinates for a while now, and it won't read them."
"Do we need to fix it?" I ask, looking at the glass in front of the pilot chair. I can see the ship better now, it's another gray star destroyer. We need to get out of here before they get too close, or it's the end for all of us.
"Well, it's not exactly broken.." Hera says, glancing at us over her shoulder, before she goes back to her button pressing.
"What?! Don't tell me that somehow the Empire messed with it." Ezra says. "Why does nothing go our way?"
"Maybe because we're rebels and the Empire will stop at nothing to destroy us?" I say sarcastically. "What did you expect? They know that if we could go by now, we would be gone."
"It's not over yet.." Hera grabs the controls and I can tell it's going to be a rough trip. "Go check the hyper drive and see if you can find what's wrong with it!"
Me and Ezra ran down the hallway, dodging the rest of the Crew as they walked up toward Hera. Eventually we got to the room where the hyper drive was located. "Uh... Do we just poke it or something?" I ask, getting closer to it and inspecting it. It looks normal to me.
"Okay, so how about I poke it, while you look around for a way to stop that Star Destroyer."
"...And I do that how?"
Ezra is digging through his bag, looking for tools. "I don't know.. Use the guns or something?"
"Do you even know what you're doing here?" I ask, my voice flat.
He pauses, and looks up at me. "Uhh.."
"That's what I thought." I say, turning and running out the door. I pull my comlink up to my mouth, and ask Hera if she would be okay with me firing a few shots at the Star Destroyer.
"Uh.. Go ahead?" She says.
I reach the turrets, and climb inside of one. It's hard to see the major parts of the ship, and I squint to try and get a better view of it.
Maybe the force could help me here? I squeeze me eyes shut, trying to find the Star Destroyer through it. "Fire." I think, and squeeze the button to release a blast of energy. I open my eyes and watch the red energy bolt fly through space, and hit the star destroyer.
"YES!" I shout, excited. "Hopefully that hit something important!"
I continue firing, allowing the force to control my aim. So far, every energy bolt has hit something on the ship.
