Well, we're almost to the end of this story guys. A couple more chapters, and it will officially be over and done.

Darth Thanton glared at the screens in front of him, as if it was their fault that the ship had escaped. He could still sense his daughter's force signature, even if it was weakened because of how far they were from each other. A link had been forged between them, a bond not easily broken. Because of this, he would always be able to sense her, even when she was not near.

He knew he had to be careful. If he went too far away from her, the bond would continue to weaken until they met again. The closer he was to Tilah, the stronger the bond would get. Too far, and it would snap.

"I'll be controlling where the ship goes from here." He said. "Go to these coordinates. I'm sure that they went here."

"Something's wrong."

Kanan's voice cuts through the silence that fell across the crew ever since we got into hyperspace. We all stayed together in the control room, like we really were a family.

I guess that in a way, we were.

"What is it?" Hera asks, turning to face him. She folds her arms, and sits back against her pilot's chair. I've never flown a ship before, but I guess that it's hard work. She looks tired, like she hasn't slept for a very long time. I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

"We haven't lost them." Kanan paces the small space in the room, rubbing his head. "I can sense that they are coming back." He turns to me. "How long have you been linked?"

"Linked?" I make a face. "What does that even mean?"

"Someone is linked to you through the force. That someone happens to be your father. I'm guessing that you didn't know about this link?"

I shake my head. "If he forged it himself, I wasn't awake or aware."

"Then we have a problem." Kanan sighs. "As long as you two are linked, he'll keep coming, and he'll bring the Empire with him."

I felt cold and alone. I'm surprised when Ezra reaches out and takes my hand, squeezing it slightly. I give him a grateful smile.

I love him.

"So what do I do?" I ask, looking around the room. "I would prefer not having to die to fix this."

"What?" Everyone in the room recoils, like I just suggested we surrender. "Tilah, we would never do that!" Sabine exclaims.

I glance at Ezra out of the corner of my eye, and he looks a bit pale, like he's thought about me dying before. "What can we do then?" I ask, nervously. I just want to be free of the Empire. I just want to be safe.

"They used to talk about this when I was your age.." Kanan admits. "They said that the only way for it to be truly broken was for one to die... And I don't think it's you who deserves that."

"So what do we do? Lure him out alone? We all know that's not going to happen." Ezra says from beside me. He's still holding my hand tightly, like I'm going to slip away.

"We have to try our best." Kanan says, not looking at the two of us. "I think that it should only be us 3. That way, we won't endanger the rest of the crew."

"What about you two?" I ask, dropping Ezra's hand and stepping forward. "This is a feud between me and my father, not you guys and him. Ultimately, this will come down to me and him. You know that we will face each other, and only one will live."

"We either stand together, or we fail alone." Hera says, standing up and putting a hand on my shoulder. "You can't do this alone, Tilah. You'll need backup."
