26- Lifting the Fog (Caitlyn)

I found myself on the rooftops near the Tower, and instantly began running towards the tall building in the hopes of clearing my head a little.  There was like this obnoxious buzz clouding everything, but I couldn’t figure out why.

 Now I know why my sisters love this! It's amazing! I thought as the wind went through my hair as I ran and jumped across rooftop to rooftop.

"Okay, just like Tomoyo-san taught me…" I said to myself as the tower came to view. I jumped from the roof to the open window in the tower, but I didn't perfect the jump, as I soon realized as pain shot through my leg. Trying to ignore the pain I started to walk to where my locker was.  I rounded the corner, but shot backwards again when I saw Kylee there, heart pounding

"Kylee, you're needed by the master." I heard Mark, Kylee's nut job partner, call.

"Be right there!" my sistered yell back, and I peeked around the corner again just in time to see her leave... along with her locker still being open. My curiosity got the best of me, like usual, and I went to the locker.

"Wonder what's in Ky's locker…" I mumbled as I opened it all the way. I didn't really see much aside from little compartments that contained small weapons like throwing stars. I saw the last one and for some reason I felt drawn to it so I opened it, but I didn't expect to see a startling familiar BLUE mask!

"What are you doing in my locker, Caitlyn?!” Kylee’s voice snapped from behind me, and I yelped in surprise.  I whipped around, clearly looking and feeling like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Why- Why do you have Leo's mask Kylee? What's going on here?!" I asked, the fog-like stated my mind had cleared up and was replaced by a sudden anger. Kylee made a move to grab Leo's mask from me, but I orbed out of the way. "Kylee don't make me fight you." I begged.  “Just tell me what’s going on!”

"Why do you still try to defend those turtles?!" she yelled, pure rage on her face.

"BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT LEO!!" I screamed at her. I gasped, not meaning to yell that to Kylee of all people - I orbed out and went home.

Once I rematerialized I ran to Morgan's room, grabbed a few outfits for her, and then went to my own room to do the same. I also packed a couple of Mo's comics and some manga for me, as well as our mp3 player for music. After I packed things up I wrote a note to my family –

"Dear Mom, Dad, Becca, & Kylee. You lied to us so we'll be staying away for a while.

Caitlyn.

P.S. don't even try the To Call A Lost Witch spell our wills are strong enough to fight it off!"

I quickly grabbed the Book of Shadows, just in case, and orbed back to the guys as well as my sister.

I was attacked almost instantly when I arrived. "Wait I'm not here to fight you guys! Please I just need to talk!" I pleaded.

"Raphael!" I heard Leo say.

I noticed he was sitting in a meditating position and smiled. "I didn't know you liked to meditate." I said

"It’s a ninja thing." he said, but then got serious. "What's wrong Caitlyn?"

"Did you get injured by a Foot ninja that fights like Karai?" I asked, deciding to get straight to the point.

"So what if we did?!" Raphael spat. I

 sighed "I-I found this in Kylee's locker... at the tower…" I mumbled,  taking Leo's bandana out of my pocket.

"Caitlyn…"

"Guys I'm so sorry! If I had known about it I-I…" I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me and gasped from shock as tears of betrayal slid past my eyes. "Caitlyn you can't blame yourself." Leo soothed.

"I-I know Leo, but still... Can I spend the night? I don't think it'll be wise to go home for a while, and Mo needs to heal her injuries." I stated. A wave of pain shot through my leg right then and I winced.

"Caitlyn?!" I heard and looked behind Leo to see Mo on Mikey's shell holding a slice of pizza.

I smiled and waved at her. "Hey Morgs."

"Caitlyn what happened to you?" she demanded.  “I thought I told you to go home!”

I frowned. "Just a little accident up top is all, don't worry about it I'll be fine." I stated.

This time Morgan frowned. "It's my job to worry about my little sister. Leo can you put her on the couch, por favor?"

"Uh, sure" he said and laid me down. Mikey brought Mo over and gently placed her in front of me.

"What's mine is yours, what's yours is mine let our powers cross the line, I offer up my gift to share switch our powers through the air." she chanted, and then healed me after we switched powers.
