"Morgan! Slow down!" Caitlyn hissed in the darkness. I smirked, silently thanking that I had a few weeks of training under my belt. The shadows just seemed to come naturally to me, and I certainly wasn't going to complain. It made scheming so much easier.
"I want fresh clothes, can you blame a girl?" I replied just as quietly over my shoulder. "Not to mention I smell like sewer."
Caitlyn huffed. "In case you haven't noticed, we've spent the last two days in a sewer, you damasu!"
I gave her a look worth of Tony Stark himself. "The Japanese word for 'idiot' was not needed." I told her, slowing down a little.
"It's 'fool', not 'idiot'...." She muttered.
I roll my eyes. "Same difference. Now come on, we're almost there!"
Moments later, I withdrew the house key I thought I would never use again. Low and behold, though, that's exactly where Caitlyn and I were. We needed clothes, some real people food, and a shower before we completely submerged ourselves in the complicated task of freeing our sisters. And defeating the Shredder. But that was a whole different game.
From what we understood, Nightmare was no average demon that we could just vanquish. He was much older, with much more magic running through his veins. Plus, he had laid dormant, for the most part, within Kylee for the majority of her life. We were still unsure if anything we would hurt Kylee while trying to get rid of Nightmare. He knew how she worked; and our biggest worry was if he could control her or not. Because if he could...
I didn't want to fight my own sister. And it would have to be me, because Caitlyn was better at the magic portion. She would need to find some way to keep Nightmare at bay. I couldn't risk her getting hurt. Yes, we have this all planned out, we knew we needed to be prepared. Because of my vision, it was hard to get my mind to do anything else except prepare.
My sister and I shared a glance, before I inserted the house key and turned the lock. Our home was dark as the door swung inward, and we subtly shuffled closer together as we peered inside. Nothing immediately jumped out, so I crept in, flipping the lights on. Still nothing.
"Spooky..." I mumbled, feeling Cailyn close at my heels.
"Magic was used." my sister informed me. "Recently. There are more wards up."
I exhaled. "Well, at least we don't have to worry about demons." I said, some relief entering my body. "You think we still have Kraft mac n' cheese in this household?"
"You know how people always say that the only way to a man's heart is through his stomach?" Kit Kat asked randomly. When I turned to give her a look of utter confusion, she continued. "That's you. I'll let Mikey know that your weakness is junk food."
"That's no secret, lil' sis." I scoffed, ignoring the heat creeping on my cheeks.
"Uh huh, your blush says otherwise." she teased, to which I stuck my tongue out, proceeding to the kitchen to begin the food making process. "I'll go shower quick and pack some clothes while you cook. Please don't burn the house down!"
I roll my eyes. "I made breakfast on my birthday without hurting anyone didn't I?" I asked rhetorically. Kit Kat gave me a grin before dashing upstairs. Moments later I heard the water being to run, and the lyrics of Avril Lavigne songs accompanied it.
I waited patiently for the water to boil, pulling out the milk and butter needed to complete the mac n' cheese deliciousness. My stomach growled in anticipation. It wasn't long after I strained the pasta that Caitlyn's shower ended, and she came down in a fresh pair of jeans and a blue t-shirt with her hair up in a towel.
