1.3 About bickering and a snowstorm

I'm standing in the living room. Every last on of the beautiful ayakashi from last night are here.

"Y-you guys?!" I'm shocked.

Miyabi moans: "The way Shinra was attacking last night was terrible! Do that and you leave your back defenseless!"

"Maybe instead of criticizing me, you could have used one of those weird spells of yours! What was with you? Confusing your allies?" Shinra snaps back.

(They're fighting?!)

"It's your fault for being confused." Miyabi mocks. "Little oni is still a wee baby."

Shinra angrily growls: "What did you just say?"

I can say it as many times as you like. You're a baby oni!" Miyabi grins.

Shinra jumps up from his seat at the table. "You stupid kitsune! I'm not letting you insult me again! Outside, now!"

"Uh-oh!" Miyabi shows his cheeky smile.

"Now you're scared of losing, aren't you?" Shinra smiles.

"Okay, okay, Shinra, calm down." Kyoga laughs. "If you get this worked up before breakfast, you're gonna faint from high blood pressure."

Shinra confidently says: "I'm young. I'll be fine."

Kyoga's smile deflates. "What does that mean? Are you calling me an old man?"

"N-no, I..." Shinra stammers.

"Hoho... very interesting!" Kyoga smiles and begins sharpening his nails.

(Things are getting weird in here...)

Shinra is panicking. "Y-you're still young!"

"Still?" Kyoga growls.

Miyabi laughs. "Heh... Now look what you have done."

"Did you just laugh?" Shinra snarls.

"Yeah. As usual, I was just thinking what a simpleton you are." Miyabi teases him.

Shinra angrily shouts: "SIMPLETON?!"

Chikage sighs. "Getting angry when someone is right about something is a sign of immaturity."

"Ooh, Chikage. You and I think alike." Miyabi says.

"Hey!" Shinra's annoyed.

(Are these guys friends? Or not?)

Yukinojo looks pretty angry. "Shinra, leave it."

"Do I need to teach you a lesson?" Shinra hisses.

"Oh? The little oni is going to?" Miyabi arrogant says.

Chikage loudly barks: "Give it a rest!"

"Listen to them!" Yukinojo is annoyed.

"You'll reget this one day!" Shinra cracks his knuckels, clearly in the mood for a fight, when all of sudden...

"I TOLD YOU TO DROP IT!" There's a snowstorm hitting the living room the second the snow spirit shouts.

"It's freezing!"

(Wh-what the ...?!)

The storm is raging in the room.

Kyoga is annoyed. "See that. You made him mad."

"I'm cold..." Chikage grumbles.

Miyabi hisses: "Shinra, hurry up and apologize to Yukinojo!"

"Sorry Yuki... I won't do it again." Shinra quietly murmurs.

Yukinojo's smile is scary. "As long as you understand."

And with these words, the room is back to it's normal temperature.

Miyabi sighs in relief. "Phew... That was cold."

"Shinra, you can't make Yuki angry!" Kyoga scolds.

Chikage annoyed murmurs: "Why do I have to get caught up in things like this?"

"You..." Shinra looks at me.

I haven't moved. I've walked into a room full of bantering ayakashi.

Yukinojo looks surprised in my direction. "Oh, hey, it looks like our princess has awakened."

Everyone's eyes are now on me.

"... Why are you here?"

Chikage calmly says: "You don't remember.

"It was really rough yesterday after you collapsed in a heap on the ground." Shinra grumbles.

(Yesterday? Did all these crazy things really happen?)

I try to recall everything from yesterday, but I just can't believe that they were real.

(Could I still be in a dream?)
