Everything will be fine, Lin. Really, no one is going to touch you, you should know that by now. I shot her a quick look through the rear view mirror. She gave me a quick smile and took a relieved breath.

You disappoint me that you even thought that I would let anyone hurt you. I’ll protect you where ever you are, understood?

I kept pacing back and forth. When can I see her again? I can go to her, seen she doesn’t know where we live. It’s been two days since I’d seen her, and the sleeping could be better.

I kept dreaming about her and every time it got more exciting, I woke up. It was driving me crazy. When I’d marked her I planned on sleeping with her immediately or else I’d never sleep.

‘Are you busy again?’ I heard someone ask me. I turned around to see my good friend and Alpha stand in front of me. ‘Hey, Nick.’ I said. ‘Speak, because you’ve gotten very restless and absent-minded last time, and I can’t use such a Beta. Especially not when there are important things to happen the next few weeks.’

I sighed, I didn’t even tell him yet, I don’t know why not because we’ve known each other for years. We’d grown up together and even though he was the Alpha now and I Beta, nothing had changed between us.

‘I found my mate,’ en rubbed my hand over my face. ‘What!? That’s incredible man!’ And he gave me a pat on my shoulder. I started smiling, I was happy that he took the information this way. ‘Thanks,’

‘Who is it?’ Nick asked. ‘Alex, from the Warriors.’ ‘Her? That’s why you were staring at her all the time. I think I should’ve seen it, now that I think of it. And your behaviour was so different. Men, you’re going to be busy, she’s a hand full of what I’ve heard about her and killing some of the Black Blood.’

When I heard that I started growling, but more for the fact that she’d killed them, and that she’d been wounded. If I’d been there, I would’ve done it myself, because that’s not a job for a girl. Or else I would’ve taken care of her.

‘Hey, earth to Evan,’ I looked Nick in the eye. ‘Your mind was somewhere else,’ he explained. ‘Sorry, what did you say?’ A grin spread across Nick’s face. ‘Why don’t you call Ben if they want to come this way so we can train together? She’ll probably come too.’ He wiggled his eyebrows.

‘Cut the bullshit,’ I pushed him. ‘What?’ he said smiling. ‘You want to see her or not? Your behaviour tells me your mind is always with her. I’d do that if Brooke was my mate. I wouldn’t be able to keep my thoughts controlled.’ And he started laughing again.

My heart almost jumped out of my chest as soon as he offered it, so I thought, why not? I walked towards the phone, searched their number and called Ben.  After a while I hung up, and saw Nick busy with his computer, typing stuff. With a big grin I said: ‘Tomorrow they’ll be here at 1pm.’

‘And?’ he asked. ‘I don’t know if she comes,’ but I do hope it, I thought by myself.

We jumped out of the car with our stuff, and the things we bought for ourselves we brought to Olivia and Jack. Then I took Ben’s things and walked to his house. I walked into the living room and saw Joe watching TV.

‘Oh, Spongebob Squarepants,’ ‘You know him?’ Joe asked and looked at me with surprise in his eyes. ‘Of course, I might be old, but I do know Spongebob,’ he started chuckling. ‘Where’s your dad?’ I asked him. ‘In his study, someone just called.’

We watched Spongebob together until Ben came out of his study. ‘Alex? You’ve got the things?’ I picked up his things and turned around. ‘Yeah, but we met some guys while shopping,’

I gave him a serious look. He nodded his head towards his study. I gave him his stuff while we walked past the stairs, through the hall. ‘What do you mean?’ Ben asked and put the things on a chair in the corner of the room.

The room wasn’t really impressive; it was just a room for work. There were a few cupboards, a desk with a computer and a phone on it. There were also some paintings, to decorate, but that was it.

Ben stood against his desk and crossed his arms, and looked at me. ‘Two guys from Black Blood tried to get Lindsey along with … flirting? I think I can call it that. Anyway, it gave me the shivers and Lindsey didn’t like it either. I sent them away, but they gave me a warning. Next time they wouldn’t let me go like that, and I think they know I’m the one that killed five of them.’

I saw his jaw clench and he had a difficult look in his eyes. ‘Well, I guess it’s good your mate called just moments ago,’ and he gave me a small smile. ‘What do you mean?’ now it was my turn to look difficult. ‘Evan just called and asked if we could train together, tomorrow, and it’s my plan to send Chris and some Hunters. You too, so prepare for a sleepless night.’ He winked at me.

Nice, an Alpha who teases you with it, but to be honest, I didn’t mind. A big smile spread across my face, I can see him again. I could do a dance, so happy I was. Apparently Ben saw that because he was shaking his head with a grin on it.

‘Tell Chris, Jesse, Dave, James and Ian that you’re expected there at 1pm,’ ‘Sure!’ I said happily and with a huge smile I left the study.

It was easy to find Chris, and he’d tell Jesse and Dave, which meant I had to go find James and Ian. ‘You look happy,’ I heard a familiar voice, I turned around and saw Shirley.

She told me the day after the barbeque, that she’d slept with someone again. Someone of the White Legends! Congratulations Shirley, but I didn’t need to know that. That she was a whore, I already knew.

But I guess that was her idea of girl talk, it was a good try, but as long as we didn’t know each other so well, I didn’t want to hear the tasty stories. ‘I’m also very happy, because tomorrow a few Hunters are going to the White Legends, including me.’

She looked at me, surprised. ‘And why are you so happy about that?’ At the moment I didn’t care who did or didn’t know, I was so happy, no one could ruin my day. ‘Because I found my mate, and he’s from the White Legends,’

Her eyes grew wide. ‘Really? Wow, now I’m officially jealous,’ her comment made me laugh. ‘Who is it?’. ‘Their Beta, Evan.’ ‘Holy sh... he’s hot.’ Something inside me didn’t like to hear that. Apparently she noticed that, because she stepped back.

‘Sorry, I won’t talk about it anymore,’ she said quickly. Good, keep your hands off him, I thought. Then I asked her where I could find Ian and James. She knew where James was, but not where Ian was. After I told James, he told me where I could find Ian. Now it was waiting for time to pass, and suddenly I wanted time to go faster.

‘Are you impatient, dear?’ Olivia asked when she saw me wobbling on the couch. ‘Very, to be honest,’. ‘I must say, you’re very lucky about your mate. He looks good.’ I gave her a smile. ‘Yes, it could be worse, but I don’t think I matters when you’ve found your mate.’

We talked about what would happen tomorrow. ‘You know, he could mark you tomorrow,’ I swallowed, that’s true, but I didn’t think about that yet. ‘I’ll try to stop that for a while, because first I want to know him before anything happens.’

‘Yeah, say that to your racing hormones when you’re in front of him,’ and she winked at me. That night I could barely sleep, I saw every minute change on the clock, from second to minute, from minute to hour.

When the sun started rising I was so tired, I thought that even the excitement of seeing him wouldn’t keep me awake.
