The Room

I wake up to find myself in a really tall spacious room, I limp over to the door to leave but it's locked! I look down to see that my leg has been bandaged up and there is a bullet sitting on the table next to the bed covered in blood. My blood. My attention turns back to the door that has somehow been locked with a very strong padlock that wasn't about to give in and let me free, unfortunately. I look around to see if I can find an alternate way out or even a key and then I see it. In the corner of the room there is a huge venus fly trap and in it's mouth is a key that appears to be just what I'm looking for. The question is how do I get it? If only Landon were here, he'd know what to do, where is he?

Oh, well. I need to get that key out of it's mouth and find out where I am fast. Venus fly traps don't eat people right? well if it does then I'm screwed since I'm gonna try this anyways.

I gimp on over and quickly stick my hand in it's mouth and pull it out really fast, either I was to fast for it or it wasn't paying any attention because I got that key with ease. I sprint to the door as fast as I can in my condition without looking back, I really don't wanna know if anything else is after me or if I set off some sort of trap.

As I exit the door I find myself in a garden, not like a puny vegetable garden, a full blown rose garden that seemed to stretch on for miles in one direction but ends at a gate the other way. Just as I'm about to leave through the gate I find a strange bottle, I don't know what it is so I read the label which normally would help me but not this time, it's all in japanese and I only know a little. I'm fairly certain that it's not legal in the US or anywhere for that matter, but what is it? I wish I had time to figure it out but I don't, because coming at me are at least 50 squirrels and they don't look too happy either.

"Seriously how are they doing this?" I exclaim.

I start running but then I get a terrible reminder that I got shot in the leg recently, a tremendous pain rushes through my body and I'm unable to remain standing any longer, it seems that my luck has run short and that I've finally met my match. Out of nowhere comes two ropes and then I see Landon.

"Where have you been Landon?" I stand up to talk to him but fall again, lucky for me he's there to catch me.

"Careful, careful Yuka. And I could ask you the same thing, I've been looking everywhere for you and I was worried that they had kil-...never mind. I'm glad you're safe." He says smiling.

"How did you get here? What happened after I passed out? Where am I? What a-"

"Not so many questions, I can only answer one at a time. After you passed out the twins grabbed you and brought you to this top secret laboratory. And this is where we found you."

    "Who is we?"

"Do you remember our good friend Daichi? He really is extremely smart, he helped me find this place and you."

As he speaks a boy walks out from behind one of the rose bushes, he's a little shorter that Landon but taller than me, his hair is short black and he's wearing a dark blue T-shirt and black skinny jeans. What's up with skinny jeans, I really don't understand why people wear them they don't really look that comfortable. But he does look vaguely familiar I just can' figure out where I've seen him before...

"Where have I seen you before? You do look familiar I just can't figure out where I know you from."

"Well I guess it has been a very long time hasn't it? I was in your math class in 6th grade. You were always asking me how to do the assignment since you always fell asleep when the teacher was talking."

"Oh ya! I remember, didn't you also play basketball with me on the weekends?"

"Ya. That was a lot of fun."

"Sorry to ruin your happy reunion, but we really must leave. The twins will be back any minute from now and they really won't be happy to find that you escaped let alone that you still have the key." Landon says as he's scanning the sky to make sure that we aren't too late.

"Alright. So should we hurry to my house then? It's not too far from here, only about an hours drive." casually and yet a little cautiously Daichi says while looking around to make sure that there are no cameras to hear what he just said.

I try walking on my own again but the pain is just too unbearable, I don't know how I made it as far as I did before they came. And what ever happened to the squirrels? Landon carries me until we reach Daichi's car then he gently sets me in the car and goes around to sit next to me.

"Are you guys ready to go now?" Daichi asks as soon as he gets in the car.

    "Of course" Landon responds smiling.

"So how did you two even find me? Wasn't it kinda hard?"

"Well, it really wasn't easy, because the twins have 7 laboratories in Utah and you could have been in any of them. Lucky for you Daichi knows how to hack into security systems without getting detected so he did. Eventually we found you, you were still out cold but we knew you'd be up soon so we hurried as fast as we could here."

"Yup and we came just in time too, that mysterious bottle you picked up earlier is extremely dangerous and had you opened it you would have died instantly."

"It's a good thing I didn't open it then. How much longer til we get to your house? I'm still very tired."

"It'll be a while." Daichi says sadly.

"You could fall asleep in my lap if you want to. I'll make sure you're safe." Landon suggests happily.

"That sounds like a really good idea I think I just might take you up on that offer." I say smiling.

"If you two are going to be all romantic like then keep quiet cause I don't wanna hear it, I still can't believe you two are dating." He sounded stupefied.

"Okay." I say sluggishly. Not even a minute later I was sound asleep. I didn't wake up until we got to his house even then I was mostly asleep Landon was kind enough to carry me in since my leg was still really hurting. I really hope this doesn't slow me down too much. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.
