Post Office

Well today wasn't all that much better than yesterday. I saw my mother though when we were at the store. She was looking for something, I don't know what but it must have been very important because she completely ignored me. I sure hope she hasn't forgotten me, she can't just forget me right? I don't know and I really don't have time to think about it at the moment. I look to the clock next to me and I realize that it's time for me to go, I promised Landon that I would meet him at the post office with a quarter. I don't know why exactly I have to bring one but I decide that I won't question it, instead I will just obey and find out when the time comes.

"So why did you have me come to the post office? And why did I need to bring a quarter? What exactly have you plan-"

"Woah, not so many questions at once Yuka, first off I needed you to come to the post office with me so I can talk to an old friend of mine. Apparently he has some information that you would like. Second is he hid a note on a can of lemonade in the pop machine outside and you need a quarter to get it out." he says calmly, "and now for the hard part of this all... you know those magnificent twins we met a while back?"

"Well ya. What do they have to do with the current situation?"

"It's simple, they both work at the post office. You are in luck though, Daichi is an amazing makeup artist and is willing to help you out as long as he will get paid."

"How much does he want?" I say with a sigh.

"He wants $5, so not much but it's still money."

"Is that really necessary?"

"I guess not but I say it's better to be safe than sorry."

"Okay, so where is he. we need to get this done fast right?"

" Funny that you ask..."

I turn around to see a woman standing behind me, was he talking about her? As soon as she speaks I know that is really is Daichi not a girl (creepy).

"Ready?"

"I guess..."

Apparently Daichi is obsessed with makeup and takes his job really seriously because the next thing I knew I had a wig, a dress, high heels, and some serious amount of makeup on and that was just the beginning.

"I seem to have lost my black mascara, have you seen it Yuka?"

"No, I haven't. Did you leave it in the truck or something?"

"I don't know. Oh well, this will have to do. The post office will only be open for another hour and you need to hurry and get that note fast. Now go!"

And at that I was off, I ran as fast as I could in these heels until I reached the steps of the post office then I slowly walked in and found the pop machine. May I say that this building is HUGE! It's ginormous. It's a good thing Landon gave me a map or I'd be seriously lost now.

"May I help you young lady?" a voice asks from behind.

"Umm... no thanks, i'm just trying to find a pop machine, I'm parched." I say in the girliest voice I can muster.

"Alright just tell me if you need anything."

"Thank you." As I turn to walk away I take the risk of sneaking a look at the person who

was talking to me and at that moment I'm very grateful that Daichi is such an excellent makeup artist because it was one of the twins. Now it's time to get back to work. I arrive at the pop machine with only 5 minutes until closing time so I really need to hurry fast.

"So you're miss Yuka?"

At this I jump, it wasn't so much that it scared me rather it was that I really wasn't expecting this. A tall thin young man emerges from behind the plant next to the pop machine. He appears to be a little older than I am but not much.

"Yes, sir. And you are?"

"I'm Colby, Landon's friend."

"Well as you already know I'm Yuka, I was told to come to the pop machine and get the lemonade in C6, it has a note attached to it."

"Yup. It's right there." He says pointing to lemonade that appears to be facing the wrong way. "Oh and be sure to tell Landon hi for me okay?"

"Sure thing. Thanks for all of the help." I was just about to leave with the lemonade in hand when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey Yuka. If you go that way you'll never get out in time. Come here." He leads me to the wall where he pushes the button that was hidden underneath a poster and a door appears out of nowhere. "Just keep walking forward, after a little bit you'll reach a big metal door. Landon will be waiting for you out there. Now hurry!"

"Okay, and thanks."

I finally reach the end of the tunnel and just as he said Landon was waiting right there, he seemed really worried for some reason.

"Yuka! You made it out." He says running over to hug me then he kisses me on the top of my head. I'm so glad I made it out without causing any more issues. "I was really worried when I saw the time I just thou-... nevermind."

"Oh by the way your friend Colby said to tell you he says hi. I don't really see the significance of that but I figured I'd tell you anyways."

"Oh, thanks. Now, did you get the note?"

"Of course." I say as I reach into my bag and grab a neatly folded lined piece of paper.

"What does it say?"

I open it up and realize that I can't read any of it. "I don't know. It's written in Japanese..."
