Twenty Two

"Shit," Calum grins, "Cassie!"

I look over at him weirdly and watch as an insanely pretty blonde girl walks out of their dressing room holding a bowl.

"Mm?" She mumbles with vanilla ice cream in her mouth.

He wraps his arm around her waist, looking at Ash and me, "We met online, too."

A small gasp leaves my lips.

That's actually really cool. And coincidental.

"Yeah," Ash nods, "But you guys are... Different."

"In what way?" Cassie raises her eyebrows at him.

He shrugs, glancing at me briefly, "Well... You guys are dating. Cher and I are friends."

Aw, that's cute. They met online and now they're together.

Officially my new otp.

"Yeah," Michael scoffs, "But no one can just be friends with a girl like Cassie. Shit, no. I mean, except us... Now... I just mean... Well, before, when she was single... No one could... But..."

"Dude," Kei shakes her head, "Just stop talking."

Calum glares at Michael, all of us laughing.

All of this is so surreal.

I look over at Ashton, and he takes a small step towards me. Before I can stop myself, I squeal, jumping on him.

Did I just squeal and attack Ashton Irwin?

Why did I have to squeal? I could live with just the attack part...

"Woah," he giggles, tightening his grip around my waist as I smile into the hug.

I pull out of it, his arms still fastened around me, and place my hands on his cheeks. I start to inspect his face, everyone else in the room insanely creeped out.

"You're real," I state, pressing my forehead to his.

He stares into my eyes, nodding, "So are you."

"Wait, wait, wait," Keira interrupts, "So you guys know each other?"

Ashton pulls away, but instead drapes his arm over my shoulder, "Yes. Cher Lloyd and I met on Instagram."

I elbow him in the stomach slightly, making him giggle again.

"I'm not Cher Lloyd," I remind him, "Sorry to disappoint."

"Nah," he ruffles up my hair. My hair that I spent hours on this morning. Thanks. Nice one, bro, I really appreciate it. 

All that hard work gone to waste.

"You could never disappoint me."
