I yawned and stretched, expecting to feel my hands hit the wall of my room. Instead, they brushed against fabric. Linen, to be precise. I opened my eyes, startled. Where was I?

"Good morning, Viktoria," a deep voice said.

"Hi, Dad," I replied, still groggy and not seeing clearly.

The voice laughed. "I am not your dad, Viktoria. And this is not your room. I am Hermes, and you are sleeping in my guest room."

That woke me up. I bolted upright, spotting the messenger god immediately. And his loose loincloth. I smirked. "Do you always wear your worst underwear when guests are here?"

He quickly pulled it up. "This is actually my best. They're all loose."

"Ah. Why don't you get dressed, then?" I decided then that this was a strange conversation to be having with a god. You don't usually tell gods to get dressed.

"Probably a good idea. By the way, your mom delivered some clothes to change into." Hermes handed me a bundle of clothes. He winked and said, "I'll leave you alone now. I'll have breakfast on the table in 15 minutes."

As I changed, I realized it was weird that a god would make his own breakfast. One would think a god would have servants to do that. I hoped he would make bread with wine and honey, with some olives. Most people just had bread dipped in wine, but my family was just a little more wealthy (we had lots of gold drachmas), so we had better meals. I wandered into the kitchen, following the scent of sweet wine & baking bread.

"There you are! It's amazing how much a new toga and brushed hair can make a girl look prettier." I blushed. Was Hermes flirting with me???

"Thank you." I replied. "And you look much better actually dressed."

He smiled as he pulled baked bread soaked in honey & wine from the cooking fire. "Thank you. How about you go sit down at the table and I'll bring breakfast over."

I went and sat down. Hermes balanced a pair of plates on one arm and a pair of kilyxes filled to the brim with sweet wine on the other. I jumped up to help, but Hermes waved me down and had to catch the kilyxes before they crashed to the floor. And balance the rest of breakfast on his other arm, too. This time, I jumped up to help and refused the look Hermes gave me that clearly said 'SIT DOWN'. I grabbed the plates and let Hermes bend down and grab the kilyxes. He was succesful, but I got a nice, ahem, view when he was bending down.

"Woah-kay. That's a little more than I needed to see."

Hermes blushed. "Really? Why, do you want to see more?"

I could hear the sarcasm, but I had to reply. "No thank you. That's enough for me."

He sighed and sat down. "By the way, Viktoria stayed overnight at Apollo's. She decided that she was still needed at the council. Hades is giving her automatic Elysium when she gets back."

'Well then...' I thought. 'That was unexpected...'
