At the Council... Again!

"So. Where did we leave off?" Zeus was standing, though the rest of us were sitting.

"I believe we were at the part where Morpheus came marching in." Athena replied.

"No, daughter, before that."

Hermes looked up from tickling the snakes on his caduceus. "We were eating baklava and had started to continue with the discussion of the murder." He smiled at me again, making my face turn bright red. Athena smacked my arm as Aphrodite smiled at me. Great. I thought. Now the goddess of love is messing with my life.

"So, now what?" I asked. I was getting impatient with my messed up relationships.

"We continue our discussion," Zeus said.

"So, Viktoria," Apollo began as Viktoria materialized next to him.

"Yes?"

"Did you remember anything else last night?"

"No. I don't remember anything else. I just wish I could be of more help."

"Okay," Zeus said. "Is there any other business that should come before the council?"

"Yes," Athena began next to me. "It might not be safe for Amy to stay at her own house. If the killer really is Jack Krowns, her brother, then he knows where Amy lives and could go and try to kill her. I think Amy should stay on Olympus."

"I agree," Zeus said. "Who would agree to take her in their home?"

"I would," Athena and Hermes said in unison.

"Athena," Zeus said pointedly. "You will take Amy into your home."

Hermes looked hurt. As the council adjourned, I promised him I'd visit.

"Thank you. It gets lonely when you only have George and Martha to talk to."

"George and Martha?"

"The snakes on my caduceus."

Hello, dear, said the snake who I guessed was Martha.

Do you have any rats? asked the snake who's name was George.

George! Martha scolded.

What? Rats are delicious.

Yes, but you do not have to ask Amy is she has any rats!

Fine.

I had to keep myself from laughing. One does not expect a pair of snakes to ask one for a snack!

"Good-bye, Amy," Hermes said.

"Good-bye, Hermes," I replied as I was led away by Athena.
