Dancing in a Garage

I hold my breath, as I wait for a noise. I look around frantically, wondering where he could be.
"No one can just disappear like that." I mumble, stressing my nerves. Caleb's going to scare me, I just know it. I'm hiding behind a 71 convertible, trying to pin point where he is. We decided to come down to the garage, but now Caleb is playing games. Justin had been called in by his girlfriend, so he didn't join us. Mike had dropped by to hand us a key to the place, telling Caleb to keep it.
"You're always there when no one else is anyways." I remember Mikes used voice crackle before driving off. Here I am, hiding behind an oldies car, from my boyfriend who is tracking me down. I start to back up, my eyes running along all the walls. I bump into something and I jump, my legs kicking the object. A desk chair falls to the floor, and I lose my thoughts. I'm dead, I kept thinking. While I pick up the chair from the ground, I pray its not broken. When it stands on its own, I sigh in relief. Then I feel the person behind me, his hands wrapped around my waist gripping the fabric on my stomach.
"I thought I broke it..." I whisper as he places a kiss on my cheek. His nose pushes in the crook of my neck, his laugh muted by my skin.
"I've broken that chair, probably five different times." He murmurs, laying his chin on my shoulder.
"You're just naturally clumsy." I say, hearing him laugh.
"Its not my fault I got my dads two left feet." He gives a little squeeze with his arms. I turn myef around to face him, looking into his hazel eyes.
"Can you dance?"
"Of course I can dance," he snorts, nurvously. I shake my head, my laughter coming out.
"Then dance with me." I challenge. He props my hand and takes a couple steps away from the desks that surrounded us. He twirls me by spinning my hand in the air. "Ah, he does have skills." I tease. He raises his eyebrows as he pulls me close. We start to slow dance and I lean my head against his, closing my eyes and allowing my body to soak in the moment. I smile, when I start to hear Caleb humming....
"Baby, we, found, love, right, where, we are." His voice is soft, and pretty good for how difficult the song is to sing. Eventually I start to sing with him. He dips me, and I laugh as he winks. "Now you can tell all your friends how you danced in a garage with your handsome new boyfriend." He "flips" his nonexistent hair.
"Oh, shut up!" I slap his chest, and he holds it, laughing.
"If you think about it, we're pretty close for only two days." He winks at me.
"Well, we were just friends for at least three months in the beginning." I state, playing with his dog tag chain he always wears. It reads: Troy: bro's for life. He told me about it when we had recently met; his brother had one also, but it had Caleb's name on it.
"Which killed me inside." He groaned, placing his head on my chest. My hands play with his hair, and his hands lay on my sides. We suddenly get pulled away from our moment, when Justin's ringtone blars through the silent air.
"Hello?" I answer, letting my tone have an edge of irritation.
"Why do you always pick a fight, and then expect me to always be here for you?" I hear my brothers angered voice boom through the speaker.
"You're just so," Julie pauses to groan from annoyance, "Perfect." She let's out, partially a whine in her voice.
"Awe, baby, I love you." His tender words nearly make me laugh. Those two are complete opposites! the other day, she was trying to make Justin jealous on the bus in town. It worked.... I hear a series of kissing noises and I pull the phone quickly away to hang up the disturbing phone call.
"What was that about?" I hear Caleb's voice as he leans deeper into the cabs open hood.
"I think he 'Butt Dialed' me." I murmur, sliding my phone in my back pocket. I find one of the priceless cars Caleb has in his work area for him to finish up, and I swing my legs on the outside of the passenger side door. My head was on the middle piece in between the driver and the passenger side. I close my eyes, allowing my ears to listen closely to what exactly Caleb was doing. I hear his tools clanking in the hood, and his occasional grunts from his hard work.
"Did you fall asleep on me?" I feel his hands on my ankles, and I open my eyes. My hand was laying on my forehead and I yawn, wiping at my eyes.
"I just might..." I murmur, trying to look comfortable.
"I'm almost done." I hear his laughter as he walks back to the cab.

"Caleb." I whisper into the silent air.
"Hmm." I hear his reply vibrate through his chest.
"Are you awake?" We had decided to go to his place, seeing as I didn't know if Justin and Julie would've been at my apartment. By where I laid on the couch, I could still see the lamp that Caleb turned on was still lighting up the room.
"No," He replies with a serious tone. I trace my thumb on his shirt, outlining Captain America's shield.
"When can I meet your friends?" I murmur. It takes me a minute to realize that I actually said that out loud, but I don't regret asking.
"What?"
"I mean, you've met all of mine. When can I meet yours?" I position my head to look up at him.
"I don't really have that many...." He rubs the bridge of his nose, showing how this is a sensitive topic.
"You have to have at least one!" I gently slide a piece of his hair out of his face.
"Fine. Landon; I've known him since I was ten." He finally huffs out. "Other than my brother, he was the only one I hung out with."
"Was he your age?" I change my position, my head was getting uncomfortable.
"He was a year older than everyone in my class, because of his birthday." I hear the smile in his voice. "He was always on the football team when we got to high school. He was the only one who could talk me into going to a party, but he was always the one who would get so drunk he would leave me within ten minutes."
"Katie's the same way." I giggle.
"During senior year, he was so stressed with his football scholarship, that we barely even saw each other. He changed his mind and decided to become a Lawyer, he graduated not too long ago."
"Landon." I whisper, more to myself.
"Then I had Jewel. She's been my friend since I was twelve. She was the schools 'nerd', so we got along fine." He let out a quick breath, and I smile as much as I can from laying partly on his chest.
"You were classified as a nerd?"
"Yeah...." He stretches out his reply. "I wasn't the, 'you can pick on me' type of nerd, but I never got below an A-."
"I don't buy it." I giggle, making him get teasingly defenseless.
"I still went to all the football games, and I had dates to the dances, but I never really went to parties and drank till college."
"A nerd who can get the girls? Wow, you must've been talented; or at least good looking..." I tease.
"I was. I mean, I am-"
"I'm just kidding. You are very handsome." I kiss his cheek before standing up. I walk to the bathroom, hearing the t.v. being shut off. I can hear Caleb on the phone, but his words are blurred.
"Mom, I don't know." I hear a silent pause, "Dad probably doesn't want me there...." I slowly come out, and sit down next to him on the couch. "Okay, love you." He hangs up, running his hands on his face.
"Everything okay?" I place my hand on his shoulder and he hesitates to look at me.
"I gave a question for you." He looks in my eyes, and I can tell he wants me to be one hundred percent honest.
"Okay." I sit up more straight. Caleb turns his body to me, and bites his lip before finally killing the suspense.
"Do you want to meet my family?"
