"You're making me nervous!" A laughter escapes my lips and Caleb leads me up a staircase. Like I don't have enough to worry about....
"Trust me; you're going to love it!" Caleb squeezes my hand a little more. I have a blind fold tied around my eyes, purposely stopping me from seeing. Its our anniversary; two years ago today, Caleb and I got married. So much has changed! Ella got my old job, but sooner or later got sick of this place. Now she does the long distance, tracking, news writer. Justin goes with her, seeing as those two are happily engaged. Katie and Jackson got married, and now they have two little rascals running them around places.

"Somedays I just wish I could get another number!" Jackson pleas.
"Hey!" Katie slams her fist, not so lightly, against his chest, while holding their newborn.
"I'm kidding, baby; you know I love you!"

Since Justin and Ella never stay in one place, he decided to move out. They took over Caleb's old place and he moved into mine. Its been really nice, and I don't think life can get any better... Or can it?
We finally reach the top of the staircase, I hope. Caleb slides his arms around my waist from behind, his chin resting on my shoulder.
"Are you excited?" He whispers, and I suddenly get angry.
"Well, it would be a whole lot more fun if I could see it!" It goes silent and I calm down, "Caleb, I'm sorry. That was highly uncalled for."
"Its okay baby." He lifts off my shoulder and slowly unravels the blind fold. When I finally see, I'm blown away. We're standing on top of a roof, with decorations lighting up the place.
"Caleb..." I whisper, my feet moving me around the beautiful scenery, "It's so beautiful!"
"It took a while..." He laughs and I turn around. He nervously rubs the back of his neck. He stops and I smile, loving even the less confident parts of my husband. "Here," He comes closer and takes my hand, "Nothing beats the view." He leads me over to the edge of the highly decorated roof, and proves his point. From this spot, we can see everything. Even with the lights crashing through on the streets, the stars still made their point by shinning bright. I look at the ordinary people, living ordinary lives; captured by the moment. Everything that has happened, lead to this time and place. I secretly glance over at Caleb, who's eyes were looking in the opposite direction as me. His eyes stayed on the stars, almost as if he was thanking them for everything his heart desired.
"Caleb." I gently touch his arm and he transfers his eyes onto mine. "I need to tell you something."
"Are you going to explain why you've been so moody?" His voice is a tease, and I laugh nervously. "Baby I love you, but when I gave you Ice Cream the other night, you broke down crying." He pauses and I hold onto his arm, leaning my head on his shoulder. "That's not normal." As usual, he has me laughing.
"I know." I huff out after a while.
"What going in with you?" He looks up back at the sky, a smile on his lips. I look up at his face, not ready, but anticipating, for the words to leave my lips.
"I'm pregnant."

The silence kills me.
I position myself more upright, but also refusing to let my grip on his arm loosen.
"Katie and Ella are the only ones who know, except you now..." I pause. His face lowers but still not to where I can see his expression. "I wanted to tell you so many times, but we kept getting bombarded with bad news and I didn't want-"
"I'm going to be a father." He interrupts my nervous rambling. I watch as he slowly turns his face to look at me. This is one of the limited times I can't figure out what he's thinking. Naturally I start to tear up, which has gotten pretty annoying recently....
"What if I can't be a mother?" I pause, taking in an uneasy breath of air. "What if I do it wrong... Or they hate me, and refuse to accept me as their mother... What if-" I get pulled into a hug, feeling the fabric of his T-shirt on my cheek.
"You will be the best mother any child could ask for." He kisses my head, his arms wrapping securely around my body.
"You really believe that?" I pull part of my body up, abling me to see his face.
"Yes. With all my heart."

Of course that didn't make me feel a hundred percent better, but warmth spread through my heart at his "Candy Coated" words.
I knew then that no matter what, with Caleb beside me, everything was going to be absolutely fine. 😊
