Chapter 8

Ryan's pack was behind us. The ceremony was now over and it was time for us all to shift. Cass and I hid behind a tree to take off our clothes before shifting. Ryan didn't mind, saying something along the lines that he was the only one aloud to see my body. I had shook my head and chuckled before running behind a tree. Now standing butt naked, I closed my eyes and willed the shift to come. I let out a happy sigh as I felt the slight pain of my bones rearranging themselves. When I opened my eyes again I was now standing on all fours. I shook my grey and white fur before stretching. Ryan, still in human form, looked at me when I came out from behind the tree. "Rave?" I nodded my wolf head and licked his hand. I came up to about mid arm to him. Cass trotted up to Caleb with her Snow White fur and licked his face when he bent down to eye level. I looked around and noticed that everyone was still in human form except for me, James, Jacks, Cass, and Blue. In my head I blushed a little. I nudged Ryan's hand gently and pointed to the pack with me nose. 'Why haven't they shifted?' I mind linked him. "Because we have to recognize your wolves before shifting. It's tradition." I nodded at his words. He turned to the pack. "Meet the new members of the Blood Rose pack." There was a round of applause and hoots from the crowd and I straightened my back a little. It was a large group of people.

They all began to go behind trees and shift and then Ryan was the last one in human form. He went behind the tree I had shifted behind and came back in wolf form. His wolf was gorgeous. A dark brown coat had replaced Ryan's skin. I walked up to him and licked his nose. We walked to the center of the clearing and looked at the pack. 'Not only do we have new pack members, you also have a luna. On her signal, we run together.' I smiled in my head happily and tilted my head back before letting out a loud howl. This howl wasn't filled with sore. It was filled with joy and happiness. Then I remembered why I was here at this moment. My howl quickly turned from happy to sad. It was a cry for the one that we lost. Cass soon joined in and then everyone else. Before I knew it, we were all running. I pushed my self harder and faster, wanting nothing more than to forget about the past. Layla was more than happy to take control as we ran towards the beach that we had heard earlier. As I came to sand I went faster, running along the boarder of sand and water. It has been a while since I had been able to run like this. Just in my wolf form. Without the fear of getting caught.

I could hear the pack behind me and Ryan beside me. I howled again and couldn't help the smile that came onto my face. 'You are so beautiful, my love.' Ryan said through the mind link. I looked over at him and gave him a wolfish grin. I nudged him before run back towards the woods and saying 'tag you're it.' I was giggling in my head as I ran. And that's how the game of tag started between the pack.

We had been running for a few hours and now we were back at the clearing. I was laid down on the grass beside of Ryan while he was sitting down. I put my head on my paws. Adrenaline was running through my veins and I felt amazing. Ryan looked down at me and chuckled. 'I hope you had fun tonight.' I rolled onto my back and pawed at his shoulder playfully. 'Yes. I did. It was amazing.' He licked my paw before turning his attention back to the group. 'Everyone wants to leave soon to go back to the pack house. I was wondering if you wanted to come as well. You don't have to move in right away if you don't want to. I know you probably still want to go back to your adopted parents for a while.' I looked up at him and tilted my head slightly. 'Of course I want to move in right away. But I also want to go see John and Ellena. Plus I have to get my stuff from their house.' He looked down at me, 'you really want to move in with me?' I rolled my eyes mentally, 'of course, dumb dumb. You're my mate.' I reached up and licked his nose. He did the same and then turned back towards the group. 'Alright everyone. Time to head back to the hotel. Tomorrow morning we leave for home. So get a good nights rest.' Ryan spoke through the mind link to the group. I smiled and got up before going behind the tree that had my clothes so I could shift.

After we all got back to the hotel, everyone went their separate ways. Ryan and I went up to my room so I could grab a clean set of clothes to sleep in and then went to his room. It was only 10 P.M. I decided to call John and Ellena. I was now sitting on Ryan's bed, freshly showered and in my pjs. After a bit of convincing, I decided to video chat my adopted parents. The phone rang 2 times before Ellena's face came across the phone. She squealed and smiled happily at me. "Oh there's my lovely Raveanna. Hi honey. How's your vacation going? Did you have a good birthday? How was the concert? John, baby look who's on the phone." I smiled as Ellena pointed at the phone and then John showed up on the phone as well. "Hey John, Ellena. I had great birthday. The vacation is going amazing. The concert was so much fun. I can't wait to see you guys again." They both smiled. "Oh sweetie. We can't wait to see you too. So. Have you met any cute guys yet?" Ellena wiggled her eyebrows up and down and I blushed. "Well... I... See..." Someone cleared their throat and I looked at Ryan. "I want you guys to meet someone." Ryan came and sat down next to me and I moved my phone to where he would be in the video as well. "This is Ryan. He's my boyfriend." Ellena squealed again and John looked at his wife like she was crazy. "Women would you stop. You'll make me go deaf and I'm only 32 years old." I laughed at John. "Well, young man. I'm John and this is my wife Ellena the squealer." Ryan chuckled. "I'm Ryan Thorn. Nice to meet you Sir and Ma'am." Ellena giggled. "Oh don't call us that. It makes us sound old." I rolled my eyes. "So Rave. When are you and Ryan coming here?" I blushed again. "Tomorrow. If that's okay." I sighed mentally when Ryan answered for me. "See, I found a place to stay down here. Cass and I are going to be sharing an apartment. So I wanted to come and get my stuff." Ellena gasped and clapped her hands. John rolled his eyes at his wife. "Oh sweetie. That sounds amazing. But if you are moving in with Ryan, all you have to do is say. You're 18 now. Live alittle." My eyes went wide at what Ellena said. "Oh honey, we have to go. My client is calling in. We'll see you tomorrow." John said as he looked at his phone. "Okay. Love you guys." They smiled back at me and waved. "We love you too." The call ended and I sat my phone on my bed.

"Wow." I stared at the floor. "That went scaringly easy." Ryan chuckled at what he had just said. I nodded. "I know. My adopted parents are weird." Ryan tugged me onto his lap. "I still like them. They remind me of you. Well, mostly Ellena." I punched his arm playfully and fake gasp. "Let's get some sleep, love. We have a long day tomorrow." I nodded and we both climbed into bed. I was wrapped in Ryan's arms with my head on his chest. I sighed peacefully as darkness surrounded me and sleep took over.
