Chapter 4

My eyes went wide and I shot up from where I was sitting. 'Mate! Go to mate now!' Layla was screaming in my head. 'No. No he might hurt us. He might be my nightmare!' Layla growled at me 'mate!! Now!!' I was scared out of my mind and when he took a step towards me, I took off in the other direction, only stopping to grab my key and phone. I ran as fast as I could to the elevator.

As soon as I got to my room, I unlocked it, and then locked it as I ran to the bathroom and locked that door as well. 'He'll find us. And then he will reject us and beat us. No where to run.' I started to panic. 'Rave!!' I heard Jacks in the back of my mind. Did I forget to mention that Jacks is the alpha of my pack?! 'Yes?' He growled 'you just ran from the most dangerous alpha on this planet! He is the alpha from the blood rose pack!' I whimpered. Oh no. 'Get down here right now!' He used his alpha tone and I whimpered again. 'But my nightmares...' He cut me off 'now!' I shot up and went back down to the pool, keeping my head down. I looked up and saw Jacks talking to buff guy. When I got closer, buff guys eyes shot to me and I flinched and kept my head down as I walked up to them. "Alpha Jackson." Jacks growled at me to shut up. "Alpha Ryan. Beta Caleb. This is Raveanna Moore. And she is extremely sorry for being so disloyal." He shot an evil glance at me. I looked up at Alpha Ryan and saw him staring at me. 'Mate mate mate mate' Layla kept chanting. 'Shut it, Layla!' "... And she will be punished for it." My head shot up and looked at Jacks as he said that. Blue walked up to him then and hit his arm. "Don't you even think about it mister. That is my best friend you are talking about! You will not lay one hand on her and neither will you." She pointed at Alpha Ryan. "Blue... It's fine. I understand and I will go through with the punishment." I bowed my head. 'Stop before you get into trouble as well.' I mind linked her. "No I will not!" Alpha Ryan's eyes left mine and looked at my luna. "I will not harm her. She is my mate. And you shall not punish her. I would just like an answer as to why she ran." He stayed calm the whole time. 'Nightmares' I said to myself in my head. But I guess it wasn't in my mind. "What do you mean nightmares?" I looked at Alpha Ryan and frowned. "I have nightmares about my mate... That he will... He will reject me and beat me like..." I stopped talking at the memories. "Like what?" I kept my head down as the tears rolled down my cheeks. "She was abused by her boyfriend when she was human. He nearly killed her." Cass spoke up for me and more tears came. I felt tingles as someone wrapped their arms around me. I laid my head on their chest and they held me. "I would never do that to my mate." Alpha Ryan kissed my head and I sigh as I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Oh come on! Please!" Cass was trying to get me to jump into the pool but I didn't want to until Ryan got back. He had told me to stop calling him alpha. He had went to change into swim trunks. "I don't want to ye..." I didn't finish my sentence as I was picked up by Jacks. I squealed loudly as he tossed me into the pool. I had just enough time to close my mouth and hold my breath before I hit the water. "Hey!! That's not fair!" I swam to the edge and pulled myself up to sit down. "What's not fair?" I shivered as I heard Ryan's voice and I smiled at him. I pointed at Jacks. "He threw me in the pool." I stood up as Ryan walked up to me. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. "That wasn't nice." I shook my head and pouted playfully. "Nope. It wasn't." He did something unexpected then as he leaned down and kissed me. I kissed him back, loving the way his lips felt. We both pulled away and blushed. I cleared my throat and went to the edge of the pool. "I'm getting pay back." I jumped in and swam towards Blue. I pulled her away from Jacks and splashed Jacks. Blue got the hint and joined in. I didn't hear Ryan get in until I felt his arms around me as he pulled me to the other side of the pool, laughing. "Hey. Why did you do that?" I turned and looked at him. "Because. I wanted you to give me attention." I rolled my eyes and messed up his hair. "Where are you from?" He sat me on his lap after he pulled us onto the edge of the pool. "Washington. You?" He frowned. "Here. But not this city. A few of my pack mates and I wanted to come see a concert." My mouth fell open. "That's the same reason why we are here." He laughed and kissed me. "I'm glad you did." I blushed. "Me too." I frowned just then. "What are we going to do? About the distance." He looked down at me. "Well I have to stay because of my pack." I nodded. "Do you want me to stay?" His eyes went wide. "Of course I do. Why would you think I wouldn't want you too?" I shrugged. "Maybe because I'm not strong enough to be luna." He pulled my chin gently to where I was now looking at him. "You are more than strong enough to be luna of my pack. And I wouldn't ask for it to be another way. You can move in with me if you would like." I smiled brightly. "I would have to ask Ellena and John. But I would have to tell them something different. I would..." Ryan stopped me. "Who's Ellena and John?" I smiled again at him. "My amazing adopted parents." He nodded. "How old are you?" I moved hair out of my eyes. "18 today. You?" He smiled. "20 last month. That's not a problem is it?" I shook my head and he kissed my cheek. "Happy birthday, baby." I blushed. 'Best birthday ever!' 'Best birthday present ever!' Layla purred in my head.

After the long day of swimming, we decided that we needed to eat. We all split up so we could clean up and get changed, deciding that we would all just go out to eat. I fixed my hair and makeup after taking a quick shower. I put on a black shirt with cuts going down the arms and a pair of dark purple skinny jeans with holes in them before I put on my boots. I grabbed my bag and skipped out of my room. I ran to the elevator, wanting nothing more than to be with Ryan again. As soon at the doors open and I saw Ryan I ran up to him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. "I missed you. Even though it was only an hour." He chuckle and kissed me again. "I know sweetheart. I missed you too." Caleb, Ryan's beta, cleared his throat. "Can we go eat now?" I nodded, eagerly. Ryan chuckled again and we all crawled into the trucks. And yes, I rode in Ryan's truck. We had all decided to go to an Olive Garden.

When we got there, all 7 of us went into the Olive Garden and got a table. Once again, after we ordered, the waitress thought we were crazy. I sat next to Ryan and we held hands under the table. Caleb cleared his throat and smiled at all of us. "I would just like to say that I am so glad this jackass finally got himself a m... Girlfriend." He stopped himself from saying mate because of all the humans around. "He can finally shut up about finding one." He jokingly punch Ryan in the arm and I laughed. So did everyone else. "You're one to talk. All you ever talk about is how your m.. Girlfriend wants pu... I mean babies." I laughed as Ryan stuttered over the words mate and pups. He was so cute. He looked at me and kissed my cheek. Our food came and we all dug in. I was in the middle of eating my lasagna when someone started singing happy birthday and a cake with candles was sat in front of me. I blushed and looked at my friends and mate. They all smiled and sang along. At the end of the song, I blew out the candles after making a wish. Everyone around me started clapping and smiling. I blushed which received a hug from Ryan. 'Did you plan this?' I mind linked Jacks. He smiled at me. 'We all did while you were still in your room. We called ahead.' I blushed again and smiled at my friends. "Thank you guys. This is the best birthday ever." We began eating again and then we ate the cake.

We all returned to the hotel with full stomach. It was now 10:00 PM and we were all tired. "Hey guys don't forget that tomorrow is the concert and Cass's birthday." Jacks looked at us all and smiled at Cass before he and Blue went into their room. Everyone else headed to their rooms as well except Ryan and I. "Before you go into your room, I want to give you your birthday present." I looked at him confused. "You got me something?" He chuckled and took my hand. "Of course I did." He led me to what I assumed was his room. He sat me down on his bed and told me to cover my eyes. I did as I was told. "Okay. You can look now." I opened my eyes and saw him holding out a little box. I took it slowly. He smiled and sat down beside me on the bed as I slowly opened it. There laid a purple gem neckless. I gasped and looked at him. "How did you know I loved the color purple?!" He chuckled. "Cass told me." I held up the neckless. "Will you help me put it on?" He nodded and I turned my back slowly and lifted my hair. He put it on me and then I turned back to face him. We were so close. I looked into his eyes and blushed as I saw he was looking at me too. "Thank you so much, Ryan. I love it." He smiled. "It looks amazing on you." I looked at his lips and blushed even more. He lifted my chin up slowly and kissed me gently. I kissed him back as well. It turned into a full on make out scene until we pulled away long enough to breathe. "Happy birthday, beautiful." I kissed him again but this time I pushed him back onto the bed.
