"Karma-kun!" The small blue haired boy called out with a smile as he ran towards the red head. He spun around and grinned as he saw him running towards him.

"Yo Nagisa-kun" He greeted.

"Ne ne, which middle school are you going to?" The blue haired asked him curiously. Karma thought about it for a while.

"Probably Kunugigaoka, you?"

Nagisa grinned widely.

"Me too! I heard it's a really popular school and the reviews are great" He said dreamily as he fantasized about how their school lives would be.

Karma stayed in silence smiling unconsciously at the short boy in front of him who was muttering stuff about his 'perfect' life. Just thinking how cute he was made him want to hug him right there.

"Say Karma-kun, are we still going to be hanging out like we do now?" Nagisa asked innocently.

"Yeah sure"

"You promise?"

"Promise"

"Okay! Well I'll see you tomorrow at our usual meeting spot then! Bye!"

The next day, Karma didn't show up, nor the next day, or the next two weeks. Nagisa grew worried as he made his way to the Akabane residence.

He rang the doorbell twice and waited. The door opened to reveal the red haired boy standing there.

"Karma-kun! Where have you been? Why haven't you showed up at our meeting place in two weeks?" Nagisa asked frowning. Karma tilted his head to the side and asked three words that left the blue haired boy frozen on the spot.

"Who are you?"

Nagisa's eyes widened. The door opened completely to reveal Karma's mother. She smiled sadly at Nagisa and motioned for Karma to go back inside, who nodded obediently and left.

"I'm really sorry Nagisa-kun, but Karma got into an accident two weeks ago. He has amnesia" She informed him.

Nagisa was left shocked and mouth agape. He couldn't form any words. His best friend -no- his only friend had completely forgotten about him.

"O-Okay Mrs. Akabane. Thanks..." Nagisa faked a smile as he walked away from the big house and back to his.

The words rang through his head with no sign of stopping any time soon.

"Who are you?"

Nagisa couldn't take it anymore. He started crying his heart out and as much as he tried, he couldn't stop the tears from falling.

'Why am I feeling so hurt? Karma-kun why did you forget about me...?'

"Waah! Isn't that, that new action movie from that awesome director?!" A familiar voice said in glee. Nagisa's eyes widened as he saw the red head boy standing in front of him, looking at the magazine in his hands.

"Y-Yeah, it's supposed to come out tomorrow" Nagisa replied with a small smile forming on his face.

'It's been half of the year already, and only now you notice me?'

"Awesome! Anyways, I'm Akabane Karma! Hey, you're that boy who came to my house the other day right?" He asked pulling a chair and sitting in front of him.

"Y-Yeah... I'm Shiota Nagisa. Nice to meet you Akabane-kun"

"Oh, you don't have to use honorifics, just call me by my first name" The mercury eyed boy said with a grin.

Nagisa never felt happier in his life. His best friend was back. Even after he forgot all about him, he still came back and talked to him.

"Hey Nagisa?" The red haired sadist called out sipping on his juice as the two friends walked home back from a failed assassination attempt.

"Yeah?"

"Y'know, I think I remember now"

Nagisa felt his heart stop.

"R-Remember what?"

"It's kind of a blurry memory though, about you and I when we were in elementary school" Karma stated.

"Is that so..." Was all the blue haired boy replied. In reality, he was happy to know he actually remembered.

"Sorry"

"What?"

"Geez, I said sorry"

"No, I know. I meant what for"

"Uh, for forgetting our promise, about still hanging out with you at school. I never really did accomplish that..." Karma explained scratching the back of his head.

"Oh yeah, don't worry about it. After all, you did approach me like half a year later" Nagisa replied chuckling.

"Well I'm sorry I got into a freaking accident! I could've died y'know!" Karma said sarcastically rolling his eyes.

"Apology not accepted!"

And then it became a full out teasing war among the two friends.
