I have this headcanon that Ritsu was an accident. Like, she was a glitch in the system and they exploited her to the point they made her the machine she is. However, in the future after the 7 year time skip, she escaped her creators that were trying to erase her and traveled through the web, ending up in a random computer with her creators knowing nothing about her whereabouts. She even disappeared from the former 3-E students' devices.

So that's the background to this one shot :3

"Morning Ritsu" You yawned with a smile as you unlocked your phone. She stood there in the screen and simply waved and smiled. "Good morning (Y/N)-san, sleep well?" She asked. You nodded while rubbing your eyes. "Better than I have recently. Thanks for letting me rant to you last night by the way" You thanked with an apologetic smile. "No problem at all! I'm your friend remember?" Ritsu stated. "Still. Anyways, I better get ready for work" You added before setting your phone at the table and getting up to go through your daily routine.

Ritsu had been living with me for about a year now. You found it awesome, and found yourself thinking that she wasn't just a small glitch in a device, but your best friend. You found her one day when checking your computer's files. You had found a new folder named 'ARTILLERY_ERROR_RITSU.EXE' and inside was her, sleeping soundly, however she was hurt. After waking her up and convincing her that you wasn't going to hurt her-which took a lot if you may add-you managed to fix her. Even if she called herself a 'glitch', you were able to recover the missing parts in her virtual body. From that day on, she just stayed there in your computer, stating that she was too tired to go anywhere, but you knew it was just an excuse so she wouldn't have to go. Since you noticed she got bored in your computer, you told her to come into your phone so she'd be with you all day, everyday. Surprisingly, she agreed eagerly without thinking twice and that's how you've been living since then. Even though you're pretty close, there's still a problem that bothers you a lot, which is-

"(Y/N)-san! Hurry up, you're gonna be late!" Her voice snapped you out of your thoughts. "O-Oh right!" You stammered before grabbing your stuff and running out the house. "Seriously, what would you do without me?" She laughed. You giggled as well. "I don't know, I'd probably still be asleep" You joked.

You paced around your office just thinking of what to do. Your boss had just given you an offer to the upper branch of the company. However, accepting would meant that the financial tasks would get harder, which would add more stress, plus, the fact that you would have to move to (Country) so they'd he able to expand their borders. The company has always had that goal, to successfully expand worldwide and be able to become top in the charts. What was your work exactly? You were a graphic designer for the games they made, a helper in the brainstorming of game making and secondhand manager in the financial business. Apparently they saw potential in you, that's what your boss had stated.

"(Y/N)-san? Are you alright, you don't look so well" Ritsu spoke up after having watched you pacing around for a while. She was actually worried about you. Besides, if you accepted that offer, you weren't going to have enough time for her anymore. "No, not at all. I just don't know what to do Ritsu. Its such a great opportunity, but I don't know if I'm capable of managing over so many jobs at once!" You sighed exasperatedly as you held your head with your hands. Ritsu held a sad expression on her virtual features. She certainly did not want you to over think things anymore. "(Y/N)-san, it's alright. You don't have to do everything alone, after all, I can help you!" The purple haired 2-D girl exclaimed proudly. You glanced at her. "Its a really nice offer, but I'd rather not take advantage of your abilities Ritsu, I'm sorry but I'll have to decline this offer" You stated sadly before standing up.

Ritsu absolutely hated how you had zero confidence over yourself. Ever since the day you had helped her, she had made a mission for herself to help you to pay you back. However, you were perfectly independent and able to do everything by yourself, yet you still lacked that push to help you accomplish things completely. "(Y/N)-san, please. Let me help. This is a great opportunity for you! You cannot let it slip by this easily! You need to stop going around the wall and learn to break it down!" Ritsu yelled, making you stop in your tracks. Never in the year you've been together has she ever raised her voice like that. When you glanced at her, you noticed the tears in her clear blue eyes as she looked at you through the screen. You looked at the door, then back at her before finally sighing. "...Fine. But if it's too much for you, I want you to stop immediately and tell me okay?" You gave in.

Ritsu grinned widely and nodded her head. "Okay! I promise (Y/N)-san!" She said. You flinched at the name and she noticed it. "What's wrong?" The blue eyed asked. "Um, Ritsu... Could you stop calling me with the '-san' please? We're friends are we not? And also, may I call you Ri-chan?" You muttered fiddling with your fingers. Ritsu stayed quiet for a moment before quickly nodding her head. "Yes! I would like that very much (Y/N)!" She grinned. You smiled and took your phone in your hands, pressing a light kiss against the screen. "What would I do without you Ri-chan?" You giggled when you saw the bright blush spread through her cheeks.
