Present

I harshly wipe the tears on my face. I don't understand why did I cried remembering the past. I don't have any feelings for you, Lucas, only hatred and I shouldn't be crying over the memories.

I stayed sitting for couple of minutes until I hear footsteps and when I turn around where it was coming from, I saw my mum.

"What are you doing here? It doesn't seemed that you answered a call, Levy." She asks.

I stand up and walk closer to her. "You? What do you think you're doing? I can't believe you've done this, mum. You know I hated him. Why did you have to drag him along and introduced him as my husband to my son?"

"I promised his mother that I will help him whenever I sense that he needs his godmother, Levy. And to be your husband and a father to Rory is a great help, too. Look at how eager your son is now that he meets Lucas. Can't you consider a thing like happiness of your son? I am not judging your ways, Levy, but I just want to help you fulfill Rory's needs and Lucas came into my view. Wait, why do you hate him? It is because he teased you four years ago? Levy, that's too long ago since you've seen each other."

If only you know that it wasn't just the teased Lucas did but also crushing my heart.

"Ever since before, I hated him." Lie.

"Come on, Levy. You're not teenagers now to tease each other. Just forget your annoyance to him. Get back inside maybe your son is wondering why you aren't there while his newly arrived father is inside with him."

"I don't want to go inside."

"Levy, please act your age! Let's get inside. It's already dinner when you left." She said before turning her heels away from me. I followed her with heavy footsteps. Then, I remembered something.

It's almost Rory's bedtime. After the dinner, I'm going to tuck Rory in his bed. Before we reached the door of the dining room, a disturbing thought slapped me in my face. Oh no! "I'm not going to sleep with him, mum!" I horrifiedly declared making her stopped on her walk. She turns around and frown.

"Rory will be sleeping between you two." I exhaled in disbelief.

"It's the same thing! We are getting together in the same room!"

"So you're letting your son get confuse why his fathers are in different rooms?"

"Rory has his own bedroom and I have two guest rooms in this house. Why... Mum, where is your strictness before? You didn't let me have a boyfriend before. But now, you're letting me sleep in the same bed with a man that isn't really my husband!"

"Because of the need of the situation, Levy. Why would I command it to you if it wasn't? And besides, you're already twenty. And Lucas is trustworthy. I know you wouldn't get harm by him. He knows his limitations in pretending as your husband. If he broke or disobeyed me, I am not going to give him the ten big-time clients that I promised to him as payment for this. So I'm sure he wouldn't do anything bad to you."

Only if my mother know. I want to run away from this house this moment and let my tears just flow and leave my eyes. Only if she knows what bad things Lucas did before. Lucas isn't a trustworthy person even though he was the son of my mum's friend, he fooled me and broke me.

"You don't have to kiss or hug each other in front of Rory. All you have to do is to be nice to each other in front of him. Just act and do what a real married couple do and as parents, too." On the other hand, I hate to admit this but she is right. Why does she always end up the right one? Rory is my priority now. "Let's go inside, Levy."
