I woke up to Holly knocking on my door.
"What?" I asked, annoyed. I looked over at my clock and discovered that it was 10:30 am. I usually don't sleep in this late.
"I have something important to tell you." Holly said from the other side of my door.
"Come in." I sighed. She pushed open my door and came in to sit on my bed.
"We're moving."
"I knew that."
"Were moving on Friday."
"That's in," I glanced at my calendar "two days." Holly smiled.
"Get up and get packing. We're going to Canada."
About three hours and a hot shower later, I'm sitting on my bedroom floor packing away my belongings in boxes.
"Rockie?" Holly screamed from the other side of the house.
"Yea?"
"Don't hoard. Throw away anything that's broken or you don't use!" I never really clean my room, so when we move Holly makes me go through everything, judging if I really need it or not.
"Yea, yea." I'm sitting in front of my night table, going through my crap. Old picture of me and Holly...box. Old Coffee Crisp wrapper...garbage.
I already had my clothes in boxes, along with my book collection and other things that I kept around my room. I had a duffel bag taken out for the trip filled with cords for electronics, a few books, two days worth of clothes, and my wallet.
"I'm going for a run!" I shouted across the house.
"Okay! Be safe!" Holly replied. I got up from the sea of boxes and went outside, not bothering to put on shoes or a coat. It's summer time, anyway.
I hopped down the porch steps and rand around the house and into the backyard. I unhinged the peeling white gate and took of into the forest behind my house.
Once I arrived to a clearing, I strip down and kneel up on the ground. I can feel my wolf, Harmony, stirring inside me as she is getting anxious for the run. I have shifted so many times now that I don't feel pain when I shift.
I just close my eyes and imagine myself as a wolf. After about half a minute, I can feel the change. Black and silver fur sprouts from my skin as my bones begin changing and rearranging under my skin.
When the shift it complete, I step out from the shade of my tree to feel the sunlight seep through my thick fur. I stretch, then I jump from the clearing. As I run through the forest, I can smell different animals roaming the area. A fox, a bird, and a stray cat.
The trees are only a blur to my sides as I speed through the woods, their branches nipping and pulling at my fur that glistens with the morning sun. When I get to a pond, I top for a rest. I drink some water then I look at my reflection.
