When I woke up, I was alone. I glanced at the clock. 10:32. I rolled out of bed and took a shower. When I got out, I dried my hair and straightened it, then threw on a pair of black jeans and a pink tank top. I walked down over the stairs and into the kitchen where I ran into Luke. Literally. He was standing in the doorway and I bumped into his back.
"Oomph. Sorry." I say, going around him. I walked over to the cereal counter and started digging around.
"It's okay." He said, coming to stand behind me. "Let me cook you breakfast."
"Okay. No asking me twice." He laughed. I walked out to the living room.
"How do you like your eggs and bacon?" He shouted.
"Yolk broken, salt and pepper. Burnt, please." I shouted back.
"Okay." I sat down on the couch and flicked on the TV. I watched the morning news until Luke sung out, telling me that breakfast was ready. He had the table set for two, a large plate of eggs, bacon, and toast in the middle.
"Aw, thank you." I said, sitting in the chair that he pulled out for me. He poured me up a glass of orange juice then sat down. "I can do things for myself, you know. I'm not a life-size barbie."
"I know, but this is fun."
"What, a grown man playing with a life-size barbie?" He laughed.
"No. Just eat, Raquel."
After we were finished and loading the dishes in the dishwasher, Luke brought up something I hadn't thought much about.
"So, when are you going to meet the pack?"
"What? I said, almost dropping the plate I was holding.
"The pack does know that I was out to get their Luna, and they said that they wanted to meet you."
"Um, nah. Just tell them about me. The average American girl who likes watching zombie movies, reading, being lazy..."
"You are anything but normal."
"Thanks. You know what, just tell them what you want."
"Raquel. You have to meet the pack. Choose one day this week."
"Um, tomorrow night?" I'll just get it over with, I thought.
"Sure. I'll get someone to tell everyone." He put the last dish in the dishwasher and ran out of the room. I sighed. I honestly didn't think of the title that came with having a alpha as a mate. Couldn't Luke just be any pack member? People would meet me when they run into me at a meeting or at the supermarket or something.
Luna. The new Luna, Raquel. Nope, that doesn't sound right. At least I have a group of wolves to lead around. I giggle at the thought. What could I get them to do? "Hey, you, iron my clothes." Haha. I suppose this is where the saying "don't abuse your power" comes in. Whatever.
"Okay, it's settled. We're hosting a barbecue tomorrow for supper."
"Yay, barbecue." At least I'll get something out of this. That, and learning my minion's names. I grin.
"What are you grinning about?"
"What? Nothing. I just like barbecue." And minions.

"Are you ready yet?" Luke banged on my door for the fifth time.
"Yes! God, calm your tits! One more minute."
"That's what you said five minutes ago!"
"I mean it this time!"
I was curling the last piece of hair. Once it was finished, I let it drop, sprayed some hairspray and looked in the mirror. My hair was in loose curls around my shoulders. I was wearing the strapless dress I had picked up. It had a sky blue top and a charcoal bottom with a silver belt joining the colours in the middle. It was form fitting and reached just above my knees. I scrunched my hair one last time before opening my door. Luke was standing in the hallway with black dress pants and a navy button up shirt.
