As I race through the mall, I can hear him running after me. I know that I've always wanted to meet my mate, but not like this, not right now. I want to finish homeschooling, I want to have a house of my own.
Plus, he's an alpha. My chances of getting him to drop his pack are thrown out the window. He'd force me to come back to his pack and be their luna. It is not a role that I want to take.
I shove people out of my way left and right. I shout a few 'sorry's and continue running, where I don't know.
Its not like the guy didn't look good, he actually looked hot. I just...I don't know. I can't quit my life, not now.
It smells like I'm getting close to the food court. Even though it's still early, there's chicken frying somewhere. As I round the corner, I can see the food court. In seconds I have Holly located, she's sitting at a table near the Subway station.
As soon as I spot her, I can feel his fingers on my hoodie. He takes a fistful of it and pulls me to a stop. He pushed me up against a wall by my shoulders and forces me to look at him.
He has dark brown hair and bright green eyes. He's tall, around 6'2", and about twenty years old. He has a muscular built, but not in a bulky way. He has a fair complexion, and is wearing a black leather jacket, a blue tee, and black jeans.
"Why are you running from me? Don't you feel it?" his deep voice asks.
"Y-yes. I...I'm not ready to-"
"Yes you are, or you're going to have to be. You're coming with me."
"No! I have a life, I'm moving to Canada with-"
"Nope, little rogue. The only place you're moving is into my house."
"H-how do you know I'm a rogue?"
"I can tell."
"No! You can't make me!"
"Watch me." He said as he swiftly picked me up and hung me over his shoulder. I pounded at his back.
"Put me down! At least let me get my guardian!" His head swiveled around and then he stared at Holly.
"That her?"
"Blond? Short? Rogue? Eating Subway?"
"Yes, but if you could put me down-"
"Not a chance. Whats her name?"
"Holly."
"Holly!" He shouted. Holly's head snapped up, locating the voice in seconds. She looked mortified when she saw me. This... guy nodded toward the exit and started making his way there.
Once we were outside, he walked over to his car, a black camaro. He must have a lot of money. He fished the keys out of his jacket pocket and unlocked the door. He sat me down in the passenger seat and closed the door, then locked it.
By then Holly was running up, Subway in one hand and purse in the other. I could tell that she was scared. She knew that he was an powerful alpha, and she was an inexperienced rogue.
"Who do you think you are? What are you doing with her?"
"I am her mate, and she is coming with me. You can follow if you want, we are returning to my house where she now lives."
She nodded her head and a small bit of relief came over her face. At least she knew that he wouldn't kill us. He came around the driver's side and sat down next to me.
"Whats your name?" He asked.
"Whats yours?"
"I asked you first."
"You kidnapped me." He sighed and ran his hand through his short messy hair.
"Luke."
"Raquel." He turned on the car and started pulling out of the parking lot. "How far away is your house?"
"Ten minutes or so." I tried to think of an escape plan on the way there. I can't just jump out of the car, run to Holly's and ride off into the sunset. I honestly was freaking out. I checked the lock on my door. I could easily pull it up...
"So, Luke, tell me about yourself." I said shakily.
"Well, I'm the alpha of the Red Mountain pack, I have a huge house in the middle of the forest, I think you'll like it..." He rambled on about something, but I wasn't really listening. I gently pulled up the lock on the door. It made a sound, but Luke didn't hear it. He just kept talking. I could see Holly driving the truck in the side mirror.
Okay Raquel, you can do this. Three...two...one...GO! I took off my seat belt and pushed open the car door.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Luke asked, taking a fistful of my hoodie. I pulled my arms out of it and jumped out of the car door, shifting mid-jump. I ran un the opposite direction, towards Holly. I made sure she saw me before I ran into the woods. I raced around trees as I tried to get out of this city.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see wolves bounding towards me. They can't hurt me, if they did the alpha would tear their heads off.
I picked up speed and ran as fast as I could. I could see the lights of the highway in the distance. Just a little further - crap. My face hit the ground as I was plowed from behind by one of the wolves following me.
"Surrender. It will make this a lot easier." the wolf pinning me said through a mind link.
"Never." I snarl back.
"Don't make me force you."
"Urgh, fine." I say, slumping.
"Good girl. Wise choice." he says, crawling off me. But as soon as he's off, I jump to my feet and take off. This time, I jump around in odd patterns, making it almost impossible to follow. Almost.
I could feel his paws touching my tail. With a burst of speed, I finally leaped out of the forest and onto the highway. Holly was about twenty feet away with the back door of the moving truck open. I jumped in and she slammed the door shut behind me, closing the latch. She ran around the side of the truck and jumped in the driving seat.
We sped off down the road, leaving Richington, and my mate behind us.
