- Jess's Point of View (POV) -

"Hey! Be careful with her! Can't you see that she is hurt very badly? Are you going to be responsible if her condition worsens?" Jake barks at the nurse with a scowl as he carefully puts me on the nurse's office bed.

Apparently a few seconds ago, the nurse just kindly wanted to know what happened to me that made me all bloody with cuts scattered all over my body and stepped nearer to me, and Jake became all defensive and protective all of a sudden.

Hmm. Interesting. I wonder why though.

Umm, because he is just being a really nice person and looking out for you?

Duh, stop thinking too much Jess, you have a tendency to do so.

"Jake, I'm fine, really. No need to be so careful around me like I'm some precious piece of expensive China." I said mockingly to Jake as he kneeled in front of me.

And he was kneeling on one knee.

Just like how other guys do to propose to their partner.

My gosh Jess, FOCUS. It's not the time to think about other stuff like that!

Side note, Ariana Grande is bae if you know what I'm talking about yeah ;)

"But you are. You always are and will always be. So precious. You just don't know it." Jake mumbled back softly as he study my face intently.

Wait... What?!

"Jake... What? Sorry... but...?"

"Ah, the nurse is finally back with the first aid kit. I shall not stay here and continue being the nuisance I always am. I will wait outside ok? Just call out to my name if you need assistance."

"Wait, Jake!" I called out quickly.

But within seconds, he have already disappeared out to the exterior of the nurse office.

What is wrong with Jake today? Why is he being so nice to me? All of a sudden? Don't he use to hate me with all his guts? I still remember how he reacted when Sam first introduced me to him as his girlfriend. His facial expression that day was beyond words.

Sam...

I wonder how he is now...

Where he is right now...

What he is...

"Alright young lady, it seems like you have suffered quite a bad fall. In fact truth to be told, I doubt what happened was just simply because of a fall. Care to explain to me what happened?" The nurse cut me off my long chain of thoughts and sat on the stool directly opposite me. She start to unpack the materials she needed to dress my wounds from the first aid kit and began studying and inspecting my wounds.

"Well... That is not really something I am very comfortable sharing with. I'm sorry. But if you really need to know what happen to me... for a record or something... just write it down as a fall I had just now... In the school's carpark." I replied with a shy smile. Being an introvert for almost the whole of my whole life, I am not exactly very comfortable sharing my life with other people. Especially not someone I've met, like literally seconds ago.
