"You know, although we didn't come first, I'm pretty sure we were the best team there," Bhai said. I rolled my eyes as I smiled.
"Of course you would say that. Anything with you in it is the best, right?"
"Oh, you already know."
Majid faked a laugh. "So annoying, you are." He looked at us through the mirror and winked.
"You guys are just jealous of your big, best brother." Me and Majid laughed together once he said that. That used to be one of the things we always used to write in his birthday cards. I was still surprised that he remembered that. "Enough. You girls make my ears bleed. So, newly wed, where do you guys choose to go?"
"I already said I didn't want to go to eat. You already paid for the bowling."
"Listen, Aisha. I didn't really do anything for your wedding so just please let me do this." He turned around once he stopped at the red light. "Pick a place."
"Aneel?" He scoffed and turned to face me.
"I don't live here. You should know the places, shouldn't you?" I frowned and then leaned back into the seat. I hated deciding on where to go. I then took my phone out and sent a message to everyone, giving them an option out of five places.
"Okay, Aneel," I said. "There is pizza, sushi, Indian, Chinese, Turkish?"
"Urm, my vote is Turkish," he said. As soon as everyone replied, I counted up the votes. "What is it?"
"Let me count then."
"Got an A for A levels in maths, thought you would count faster than that," my brother said. I rolled my eyes as I locked my phone.
"Turkish."
"Aisha?" Aneel asked. "Do you know how funny you looked with your bowling shoes?"
"Shh. I have had enough of that joke." For the last hour, all I have been hearing was the joke about how funny I looked.
"That's what makes it so much more fun."

"Bhai, thank you so much for today." He shrugged his shoulders with a smile.
"I told you not to say thank you. Anyways, do I get one last hug for the day?" He opened his arms, took a step closer and closed them around me. "If you need anything, anything at all, then come to me, okay? I will help you whenever I can. I'm so sorry for not being there for you all these years."
"You're here now. What do I do if the problem I have is you?" He sighed and let go of me.
"Trust you to spoil the moment," he said with a small laugh. "I mean it. Anything." I nodded my head and watched as he got into the car. "Bye!"
I lifted my arm and waved goodbye. As soon as he was gone, I dropped my smile and turned around to Aneel. He opened his arms out with a smile and I took some steps closer. His hugs made everything better. He made everything better. Even though it's been a couple of days, I feel like I have known him for years. And honestly, I haven't smiled as much in a year as I did in the last couple of days. I wanted us to last and I was going to do everything to make sure that happens.
"Aisha?" I snapped out of my thoughts and listened to what Aneel wanted to say. He had his head resting on top of mine. "From the minute I saw you, I knew you were the one. I don't think you saw me then but you know how everyone says that when they see that one person, then they know? It wasn't exactly like that with you because that wouldn't really be realistic but you made me stop in my tracks and just think. I didn't stare at you but I just thought. You know how much you can tell from a person when you look into their eyes?" I smiled and tightened my arms around him.
