I sadly smiled as I looked ahead.
"You don't have to say it because I am. I want you to say it when you believe it yourself, Aisha."
"Do you not believe me?" I looked at her and saw her with a straight face. "The one time I say it, you don't believe me?" A car beeped behind me and I carried on driving. I drove for another two minutes until I stopped. "Oh my days, you actually don't," she whispered. With a sigh, I pulled up into a car park, parking away from everyone else. When I looked at her again, she was sitting straight and looking out the window.
"Aisha?"
"Just leave it, Aneel. How come you pulled up here? Need to go Tesco?"
"Aisha, look at me. Please." She shook her head so that's when I turned it myself. "Look at me and listen to me."
"I do love you, Aneel," she said once more as she looked into my eyes. I sighed as I rested my forehead against hers. "I love you."
"You do?" She nodded her head and I slowly smiled. "You actually do."
"I just said that," she said. I rolled my eyes before leaning down to kiss her.
"Always trust you to spoil the moment, can't I?" She laughed to herself and leaned back so her head was resting against the chair. She raised her legs up to her chest again and smiled at me. Beautiful. That's the only word I have to describe her with. For now, at least.
"I could just stare at you all day, you know that?"
"And I can do the same to you too." I smiled at her and leaned over to kiss her cheek. "Gosh we sound so perverted."
"You know you actually need to put your shoes back on because we are going to Tesco." She groaned. "We need to do our shopping for the house and whilst we are coming back home we can pick up the meat and chicken. I already called in the order this morning."
"Fine. Can I pay?" I scoffed and reversed the car. "I want to pay, please."
"Why would I let you do that?"
"Because you talked about equality in the house and if you make me to let you cook and clean, I can also clean," she said. I soon parked closer to the store and laughed to myself.
"First, that made no sense at all. Second, I am paying." She crossed her arms over her chest. I rolled my eyes. "You are being a little kid. I said I am paying and that is final."
"Then I'm not going in." I shrugged my shoulders and got out the car. She looked shocked as I walked to the other side. Just as I walked around the car, she opened the door and stomped out.
"I promise you can pay next time, okay? Today is literally restocking everything in the house and it's going to be expensive. And I need to buy my stuff as well."
"You promise?"
"I promise. You weirdo, what person makes someone promise to pay for weekly shopping."
She shrugged her shoulders with a smile. "You call me weird so I thought I might live up to that."
I shook my head with a laugh and locked the car. "Weirdo. You got that right." I swung my arm around her shoulder as we walked in. "You got a pound on you?" She shook her head. I sighed and went through my pockets. Aisha put her hand in front of me.
"Here. It's a token thing that you put in trolleys." I raised an eyebrow as I took it off her. Nonetheless, I inserted it where it needed it go and it worked. "Never doubt me, Aneel."
