One Way In, No Way Out

    Right onto her soft bed. She sighed in relief to the thought of no more studying and no more big old stuffy college classrooms. She gently glided her hands softly on the aqua flower design of the comforter.

She felt so proud to already finish three years worth of college studying Psychology and also had minored into stunt doubling.

Finally the break she was waiting for was here. She was planning a trip with her friends Brianna, Alexis, Stephen, Katie, Sam, and Chris to a cabin in the mountains for a whole month.

 And herself of course. Charlotte was a girl with auburn brown hair color and hazel eyes (brown with green). She was a people person.

 Suddenly disturbing her thought was a ringing. The phone to her left had gone off. She looked at the caller ID and it was a familiar number so she picked it up happily.

:”Hey, Sam!” Charlotte exclaimed. “I was just thinking about you.”

”Hey, Charlie. I have some bad news…” Sam said boringly. Charlotte was relieved to the fact Sam called her Charlie instead of Charlotte. She preferred Charlie or even Char but hated Charlotte..

”What is it now? Did you and Chris get in a fight again? C’mon, I don’t want to have to hear you two bickering the whole vacation!”

”No, no its not any of that. Our trip to the cabin is a bust because the owners of the land closed it last month without telling anyone that booked a cabin.”

”You have got to be kidding me!” Charlie yelled. “We’ve planned this for over a year! Now what’re we supposed to do?! And they decide to tell us now? You know what, I’m going to call the owners and give them a friggin earful. I…”

Just then Sam interrupted and said, “That wont be necessary, Char. They’ve already told me the problems in the mountains and their phone went out right after I called. I tried calling back but I could only get the ‘This phone line has been disconnected’ tone.”

”Then what’re we going to do? We leave in two days! This Saturday!”

”Well, to tell you the truth, I was told about the mountains yesterday. BUT I have also been looking for places to go for last minute people.” Charlotte was angered that Sam didn’t tell her sooner, or even better, before she freaked out.

”Then tell me what you’ve got! We will go away. I mean it. We need this vacation, Sam.”

” There’s one called the ‘Hot Getaway’. We go to a fancy-like stay in and it says ‘where everyone gets hott and steamy’.”

”Ehh, Nah, I wouldn’t have anyone to cuddle with” Char said with a laugh. “But anyways that’s more for you and Chris. Actually you both would get to the bed right away! Not everyone we’re with would really like it.”

“Yeah, you’re right. I was just messing around anyways.” We both laughed until I head Sam give a rough little cough.

”Sam, are you okay?” Charlotte asked.

”Yeah, my mouth is just a little dry is all. I'll get something to drink later.”

“Alright, tell me some more choices.”

The two went through a variety of things but none popped out at Charlotte. Night was arriving and then one suggestion gave her a second thought.

”Wait,” retorted Charlotte. “What was that one with Michigan again?”
