Charlottes slumber was disturbed by a commotion going on downstairs. She thought at first it was her imagination of her dreams.
She got up, went to the bathroom and washed up. She noticed today’s the beginning of her vacation and was excited.
She heard a faint shuffle come from down stairs again. Charlie slowly tapped down the staircase, skipping over the creaks.
Once she hit the stone marble floor, she heard a squeaky noise as if they were wheels and a few whispers.
She went towards the kitchen and saw two figures near the dining table. Charlie’s eyes went into more focus and noticed the two figures were Chris and Sam with there backs to her..
Apparently they got up earlier than Charlotte.
”Well, well, well,” addressed Charlotte. They both turned around and looked at Charlie a little odd. “I guess you two are really in a rush, huh?”
Sam and Chris noticed Charlie in her pajamas still.
”Do you have any idea what time it is?” Chris asked. Sam chuckled.
Charlie was confused and didn’t think that they all had a set time. But she also remembered Steve mentioning something at noon but she thought he was thinking about some tv show.
She looked at a clock and it said 1:26 p.m. Charlie gave a ‘What’s your point…” look.
”Were supposed to be out the door by two.” Sam said.
Charlie felt embarrassed and gasped. She turned around and went upstairs to change right away. As she ran to the bedroom, she heard the couple giggling from downstairs. She scrambled into her drawers for something that was good to travel in.
It wasn’t like there was much to choose from since she packed most of everything but she found something comfortable.
Charlie slipped into a pair of jeans with rips in the knees, a white tank and a blue plaid flannel over it.
She then put on a little foundation and some black eye shadow to blend with some white.
Char sighed and checked herself out, leaving her hair in a high ponytail.
And with that she snatched up a blue backpack, putting it on her shoulders, full of entertainment she could use while in the car, along with her favorite snack of pistachios.
Soon she heard the phone ringing before leaving her room. She picked it up.
“Hello?”
“Char, it’s me.” A familiar, but nervous voice said out of breath. She knew it was Steve. She sighed in annoyance but oh so loved his nervous voice because he rushed a bit or maybe even stuttered.
“What’s the problem?” Charlie assumed.
”Well, we can’t use Katie’s car because she left it a shop to get it fixed… She backed up into a pole, again.” Charlie could hear Katie in the background saying “Sorry.”.
”So we need another car.” Steve continued. “Or were going to have to cram everyone in mine… Which won’t be happening.”
Charlie groaned and flew on downstairs swinging around the banister and into the kitchen with the phone still in hand and finding Sam and Chris where she left them. They smirked at her and Chris made a kissy face. She rolled her eyes at them and mouthed Sam to make him knock it off. Sam ended up punching in playfully in the arm.
Chris and Sam figured Charlotte had a ‘thing’ for Stephen. Actually everyone probably noticed except for Steve. No one really mentioned around the two.
