At the top of the tower was a circular room. Nothing in it but two chairs, a door, and a lacrima that let you see throughout the tower. You looked at all of the sad faces of men, woman, and children as they were beaten and forced to work long hours in shackles.

It was then the door flew open. There stood Jellal, his features were nice in the blue light of the lacrima. "It has been easy these past hours. No one out of line." He looks down at you with a smile. You nod while looking back up at the maps.

"Why do you need this tower?" At that time, you could see someone being whipped. At the sight, and partly from the coldness of the tower itself, a shiver went through you.

"I just needed to finish what I started. It was bothering me" You could feel him step closer to you. His hand grabs yours. "But I need you to assist me with it."

You look up at him. "With what?" You blink at him. What would he need from me?

A smile spreads across his face. It looked almost mischievous in the light blue glow of the lacrima. "I need more people to build this tower, so I need you to gather them with me."

You can feel a warmth spreading from the palm of your hand slowly up your arm. "H-how would I help with that?"

Jellal gives you an even wider smile before he kisses your forehead. "With your magic. They wouldn't fight something with your strength and background." Your heart stops. He...knows?

"How did you know my father?" His laugh was shocking to you. It made you feel stupid..like a child.

He looks into your eyes. "I would know his magic anywhere."
