Come on. We all do it. Put Hazza, Boobear and Nialler into all of our stories.
Heck, I even do it a lot! But we need to be careful to not overuse the nicknames in our works.
If you use "Hazza" over six times in a chapter, you may need to consider cutting back on your usage of the word.
The nicknames are cute, and it's much simpler to use "boobear" rather than come up with our own terms of endearment for the lads, but using them too much just gets tiring to read after awhile. Dropping the occasional "Haz" or "Ni" or "Boo" is fine. But just be careful not to use it too often.
It's like with using the whole "british slang" thing. It gets overused. Even if we knew the boys in person, we wouldn't call Harry "Haz" every time we spoke to him. I have nicknames for all of my friends, and I don't call them that every time I speak to them.
Don't be afraid to be creative and throw your own nicknames into the story!(: You don't NEED to use the nicknames everybody else does.
Be unique
