I should have seen this coming

"A penny for your thoughts?" Sonny asked me, approaching the huge window I was in front of.

"Dreams come true. When I was a kid, I always looked at my uncle's photographs. He lives in Ottawa but he always travels to Toronto because of his job... he visited us every Christmas and brought us some photographs and I always told him I was gonna move to Toronto when I was older. Now I feel I'm inside a huge frame, hanging on my childhood room in LA", I said.

I tried so hard not to cry but I ended up crying anyway. Sonny hugged me.

"Maybe when we're older, when all this buzz and excitement is over, we can move here", he said, rubbing my back. "Now, you need to rest because you're gonna kick ass tomorrow."

I smiled.

"Okay, but can I have some hot chocolate with marshmallows?", I said, with puppy eyes.
Sonny laughed.
"Sure! I know a very good place 5 minutes from here."

We arrived sooner than I thought. I blame the fact it was so cold outside so we wanted to get to the café as soon as possible.

"A hot chocolate with marsmallows, please", I said.
"What size?" the black haired girl asked.
"Large", Sonny said. "I want one of those too."
"That'll be $7"
I was gonna take some cash outta my pocket but Sonny immediately took out a credit card and gave it to the girl.
"Hey!" I told him, pretending to be offended. He laughed, took his card and put it into his pocket. Then we got our hot chocolates and we left.

We were back into the hotel. I was gonna open the door but I couldn't because of the hot chocolate in my hands. I told Sonny to hold it for a minute and I opened the door.

"Where are the guys? I haven't seen them in a while", I asked, taking the hot chocolate from Sonny's hand.
"Oh, they went clubbing."
"What? Why didn't they tell me?", I asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
"C'mon, you were not gonna go anyway", Sonny said, sitting down on the chair beside the desk.
"Good point", I said, taking a sip of my chocolate.

We remained silent for a few seconds. Then it happened.

He kissed me, not giving me time to leave my hot chocolate on the desk.

"Wait, lemme..." I started saying. He took the hot chocolate from my hand and put it on the desk.

Then he laughed. I got up, I finished my chocolate and I grinned.

"Thank you for everything", I said.
"Don't even mention it", he replied.
