"This one? Are you sure?" Nicole asked.
"Do I look like I'm not?" I replied, sketching a smile. "I want something I can actually wear more than once. I don't want it to stay forever inside my closet or sell it three days later for half the price."
"Good point", Nicole said. "Oh, look at these wonderful shoes! Buy them, please! I'd buy them but they're not my size, haha. No, really. I think they'd look great with that dress."
She handed me the opened box. I looked at the shoes.
"Yeah, they're awesome! Lemme try them on."
I looked for the nearest chair and sat down.
"They're really comfy", I said, taking the box and looking at the price tag. "And cheap. I'm terrible at color combinations, fashion and all that, so I'm thankful I have you here."
"I'm thankful you allow me to help you with such an important event." Nicole said, taking the shopping basket as I put the shoes inside. "Where are the jackets?"
"I think they are on the third floor, let's check" I said, approaching the escalators.***
"Okay, wait a second... Don't look..."
"Why? What are you go...?"
"Ta da!" Sonny said, showing me a pair of blue pajama pants and an oversized Mayhem t-shirt. "I'm wearing this tomorrow, what do you think?"I remained silent, looking at him with a WTF? face.
"Bazzinga! No, not really, stop glaring at me. Look, this is the real thing."
He opened his closet, taking a pair of black skinny jeans and a light blue shirt I had never seen before.
"I just got this but I'm not sure if it's formal enough, I think I should've rented a tuxedo instead but then again I don't know, this is the first time I do this and..."
"It's okay", I said. "I bought a fifteen-dollar dress."
"What?"
"That's what I said when Nicole found it. A normal casual-ish dress. We got it on Monday. It's really cute and I'm gonna wear it over and over again."
"Good idea", Sonny said. "Okay, there's something else... Follow me..."
We went downstairs. Suddenly I started perceiving a pleasant smell and soft music. Sonny opened the kitchen door. I entered, he entered after me. And there he was, Anton humming a song I had never heard before, as he cooked some bacon.
Anton realized we were there and turned around.
"Oh, here you are! I hope you don't mind this mess, I was hungry and then I saw some bacon so ya know... Want some? I've also got some pancakes and..."
Sonny immediately started looking everywhere until he found the pancakes, took a bunch of them and sat down. I opened the fridge, took an iced tea bottle and sat down. Then I stole some of Sonny's pancakes. Anton took a plate, put the bacon there, and pretended to steal Sonny's pancakes before taking a blue plate he had beside the stove, containing a few pancakes. He put both plates on the table, took a glass, poured milk on it and sat down.
We ate until the bell rang. We got up and opened the door.
"So where are the cats?" A black-haired guy, wearing an Alesana t-shirt, said.
"Sorry man, there's only one Kat here", Sonny said, chuckling. "By the way, she's Kat, my fiancée. He's Matt, a good friend of mine.""Hi Matt, I think I've seen you before but I don't remember where..." I said, smiling shyly.
"Do I tell her?" Sonny asked him.
"Not yet", Matt said, smirking.
