I didn't know what would we talk about but I had already called Andrew. I waited for him to answer the call but it seemed like he was busy. Just as I was going to end the calling he answered me.
"This is Andrew. Who am I talking to..?"
"Ummmm..."
"Betty?"
"H-how did you know it was me..?"
"I would like to sound cool but I asked everyone who called me if they were you..."
That response chuckled me and I felt my anxiety leave my body.
"Well don't laugh, I had started to think you would never call me back." He chuckled.
"But I haven't even been a day since you've seen me..!"
We were laughing and I couldn't stop but smiling. We had talked more than an hour and his sweet words made me feel even better.
My room's door opened and Dylan entered cheerfully but then he found me talking to Andrew while my cheeks hurt because of smiling too much .
"Cmon we're having lunch."
His words were as cold as his eyes. He watched me impatiently but I had no intensions of ending the call.
"Didn't you hear me, Cole prepared lunch for you."
"Owww just wait a bit, Andrew is talking about the guy who stapled himself. Doctors didn't believe he would have done that to himself so called the police department but turns out he actually did staple himself..!"
"That's not even funny."
"Well its funny when Andrew tells it."
My response might have pissed Dylan because he took my phone from me and ended the call.
"H-hey..! What are you doing..!"
"I said lunch. Cole waits for you while you're chatting to that man."
"So what..!"
Dylan didn't say a word and dragged me to kitchen and made me sit on a chair. Cole looked uncomfortable but didn't say anything.
I felt the situation was too tense and seemed like Cole felt that way too.
"Soo... Yea actually I wanted to make something big but turns out I can only make pasta..."
He smiled sadly, like a little puppy .
"Aww no need to worry it looks delicious and I bet its really tasty."
"Its just a pasta, you're exaggerating it."
Icouldn't tell why Dylan was so cold to me but he had been like that for a long time that I couldn't even care about it anymore. Though his answer made Cole visibly upset.
"Gosh..! What do you think you're doing? Do you think that kind of macho acts are cool..? Because let me tell you, it's not..!"
Ididn't know why I was that annoyed but seeing Cole disappointed grew an anger inside me.
"It's OK Betty. He's right, it's just a pasta.."
Cole's wry smile made me sad. Why did he let Dylan treat him like that..? I didn't know the answer but I knew I couldn't stand it.
"It's not just a pasta. It's a delicious pasta and I bet Dylan is just jealous. I don't think he can cook that good."
"I can cook better than him."Dylan had finally answered.
"Sure, whatever you say."
"Pfft.."
He was so grouchy and annoying but I guessed it was my fault. It felt impossible but I guessed he was jealous.I stood up and pat his head like he was a little boy while giggling.
"Someone is a little bit jealous, huh?"He held my hand and took it away from his head. He looked dead serious in my eyes and his grip was getting tighter.
"I'm not... Jealous."
