RATE: 4 stars

All the Rage. A crazy book. I was having trouble rating this book because it was wonderful writing but the plot of the story was over all disturbing. It is not a 'happy' book at all. Romy Gray is a senior at her high school in a very small town named Grebe. If it were up to Romy, all she would worry about it her perfectly red nails and lips but that is not her life. As a younger child, her dad was a major alcoholic. He was always drunk and never there for Romy unless he needed a ride home. One day he calls one of the most appreciated woman in town a cunt and that's when Romy's life goes on the down slide. Everyone thinks of her as they thought of her dad. They bully her at school and treat hr like the piece of crap her dad was. They want her to die, they feel everyone will be better off without her family around. Then there is Penny, the only popular girl at school who sees Romy for who she is but one night at the party of the year both Penny and Romy go missing. Only Romy comes back and Penny stays un-found. The people in her town hate her more than ever. They blame her for what happened to Penny. They think that if the police hadn't been looking for her as well, Penny would be home safe. AS her school and everyone in the town tries to find Penny, Romy's memory's from the night are slowly starting to come back. Everyone thought she was wasted into not remembering but that is not what happened and Romy is finally starting to remember. She wasn't wasted, she didn't go missing on accident, and she was not the one who took her shirt off. Romy was raped but no one believes her. With Penny still gone and Romy killing herself from the inside out with her guilt and disgust of everyone in town, everything starts to crumble under every. Single. Persons. Rage. All the Rage is a beautifully written story about a tortured girl who can't escape her own treacherous thoughts.
