TITLE: TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE

AUTHOR: JENNY HAN
RATE: 5 STARS

To All the Boys I've Loved Before is one of those books that is perfect for a teen girl. Lara Jean, the main character, is one of three sisters with a single dad. Margot, the eldest, seems to take the mother role in the house seeing how their mother passed away when Lara Jean was 12, now 16. Kitty, the youngest sister, and Lara Jean, now depend on Margot for everything, but now Margot is going away to a college in Scotland leaving Lara Jean in charge. Josh, the next door neighbor, is Margot's boyfriend who she is also leaving behind even though she loves him. Lara Jean also loves him and that's who her first letter was to. When ever Lara Jean loves a boy, she hides her feelings as best she can and with Josh, she needed to do it extra hard because of her sisters feelings. She needed to get over him so she wrote him a letter. In this letter she poured her heart out and told him everything and how she was now over him. She then took the letter, licked it shut, and put it in a hat box in her closet for no one to ever see and only Lara Jean to know about. Whenever Lara Jean loves a boy, this is what she does. There are five boys in all, all five letters secure in her mothers hat box in her closet until one day, they're gone. Lara Jean doesn't know how they got sent out, she didn't even know they were gone until one of the boys walks up to her and shows her the letter. All chaos is let loose, and that means, Josh got his letter too. With Margot leaving, this seems to be the worst time possible to have them sent. In comes Peter, the boy who showed Lara Jean that she got his letter. Lara Jean is willing to do anything so Josh believes that she no longer loves him. Peter just went through a brutal breakup and is willing to do anything to make her jealous. It seems perfect, the plan they formed. Be fake boyfriend and girlfriend for a while until they both accomplish their goals. Little did they know that it could lead to more.
