Chapter 10 - Asking

2 Months Later...

Garroth's POV

"Hey bro, who are you gonna ask out to the dance?" I whirled around, only to find Zane standing behind me.

"The dance?" I never knew there was a dance coming up. What exactly was he talking about. He grinned. "You mean you really didn't know that in one week there is going to be a dance?"

Wait - what? Oh shoot, the dance! Now I remember! "The Hawaiian themed one? I was gonna ask Cadenza out. I did know there was gonna be a dance, just forgot. Wait - who are you asking out to the dance?"

"Oh, me? I'm going with Kiki!" He beamed. Kiki was very pretty, but I never did love her like Zane does. "Hey, good for you, man! I heard Laurence is gonna ask Aph out. I wanna be there when it happens."

He laughed. "Oh yeah! She'll probably say yes, but I wanna see what he comes up with to actually ask her."

     Laurence's POV

     "Hey, Aph! I, uh, have to talk to you about something. Well, I've known you since the first day of school, obviously, and seeing your smile really lightens up my day. I think you and your personality is great, and I just wanted to ask you something. Will you to to the dance with me?" I said to the wall. Okay, that sounds like a proposal, Laurence. Just simply ask her, that's all.

At School

Aphmau's POV

As I walked in through the gates of the school, I saw Laurence, Garroth, Zane, Kiki, Cadenza, Logan - basically the whole group of friends. Laurence looked up and saw me, and his face turned pale quickly. I walked faster towards him.

"Hey guys! Hey Laurence!" I chirped. "Hey Aph!" Garroth smiled. "Oh, h-hey Aph!" Laurence stuttered. His face was so pale.

"Laurence are you okay? You look really pale. Are you sick?" He shook his head quickly. "No! I-I mean - well... I have -"

The bell interrupted him. "Gotta go!" He ran off to class. "Laurence, wait! Argh - dammit. Hey, Garroth, has Laurence been acting like this since he got he -." Shoot, everyone else left, too. Better get to class.

After School

Laurence's POV

     Oh shoot, time to ask you-know-who to the dance. I pulled out my phone.

(L=Laurence     A=Aphmau)

L: Hey Aph where r u?
A: Back g8
L: K
A: See you soon
L: Hey Aph I also need 2 talk 2 u about something, k?
A: Umm ok?
L: See you at the g8

     I put away my phone and walked to the back gate. I recited what I was gonna say in my mind over and over, and by the time I got there I could feel sweat on the back of my neck.

It's only a dance, get a grip, Laurence. Just a gonna hang out with a girl at a dance, that's all.

     "Hey Laurence! You said you wanted to talk to me about something?" She smiled. I nodded my head yes. "Yeah, see there's this dance coming up, and I wanted to see if you would maybe go with me? I mean - we don't have to be, like, each other's date or anything if you don't want, because I'm down for tha-"

     "Laurence, I would love to go tot the dance with you!" She threw her arms around me. Oh, wow. I hesitantly put my arms around her. What kind of perfume is she wearing? Or is that her hair? One of them smells really good, like strawberries.

     When we walked home together, I was bursting of joy on the inside.

Garroth's POV

"Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes!!" Cadenza was practically smiling ear to ear. "Of course I'll go to the dance with you! EEK!" I was laughing and beaming of joy that she actually said yes! Now to pick out what I'm gonna wear, and - oh crap. I didn't ask Laurence if it was okay to take his sister to the dance. Shoot!
