More questions raced through my head than I could count, the article was 9 years ago. Why had I never heard of anything? It seemed like a big deal. As we drove home it was silent, I was lost in my own thoughts. If that Blaike Niall was still alive he'd be 19, so if I could find him or his older brother one or the other could have some idea as to what the murderer looked like... or even possibly who it was. There was no way to track either one though, so I was lost.

When I looked over at James it seemed like something was bothering him, the air around him left no room to speak.

He dropped me off and finally spoke with a small laugh "That was intense... I don't think I've ever read so much in such a short period, my head hurts!"

I could feel a grin form as the unapproachable atmosphere dissipated. "Yeah, I feel mentally exhausted from all that information..." Thoughts started racing through my head again. 'dark one has returned'

I could feel him lightly place his hand on my shoulder and lead me inside "Tomorrow morning I will drop off a good amount of food and water that you can eat, maybe a little money for emergencies. Just hang out in the house while I am gone"

"While you're gone?" I hadn't known about him leaving.

"Yeah, I have to go to a rookie officer seminar. I honestly wish I could stay here with you, but the seminar is a must" A light pink grew on his cheeks as he looked at me "I would like you to stay safe, in the house, since I can't be here to look out for you"

I nodded and he smiled, kissing my forehead lightly "I am going to miss you and the way you make me smile... This week is going to be a long one" I could feel his warm breath against my skin as he sighed before pulling away "Goodnight, Lilja" He then proceeded to leave for his car, me watching him as the moon oddly glimmered off his dirty blonde hair, making it seem more white.

He got into his car and started the engine the loud roar seeming louder in the bright quiet night. I watched him leave, the noise of the car getting quieter as he went. That night was a dreamless night, when I woke up the food was already there, along with a note: "You were sleeping so peacefully I didn't want to wake you up, everything you need for a week should be right here" ~James

He really had thought of everything, food, water, can opener, everything I needed so I had no need to leave the house. Everything except one thing, answers, and I intended to get them. So I put on my normal clothes and tried to make myself look presentable. Luckily today it wasn't too cold outside, so my 1 hour walk to the library wouldn't be too unpleasant. I grabbed myself a bottle of water and a snack, and then I started my walk. The air was warm with a cool breeze rustling through the trees, the air still smelled sweet from spring flowers. The trees and grass were vibrant green. Flowers of purple, blue, red, smiled up at the sun while dancing to the quiet song of the wind that only they could hear. I quietly hummed a song as I walked and soon I was at the library.

Very few people were inside today, they were all out enjoying the beautiful day. I took a quiet corner of the library and brought the books I thought I needed. Page after page I went deeper into the towns' history and page after page there was nothing about the Niall family. Hours went by and books were flipped through, I hadn't even noticed the person sitting across from me and reading contently. I raised my eyes to look over at him, he was thin but he looked agile, long thin graceful fingers went across the page as he read in silence, and slightly long and soft jet black hair was pushed from his face. His skin was soft looking, a creamy tan shade which told me he was outside a lot, as he read through the page his mesmerizing blue eyes that looked like they held the ocean moved quickly back and forth, a faint smile appearing on pink lips. I went back to reading before noticing he was looking at me, when I raised my eyes to meet his he smiled lightly "Hello"

"um... Hi?" I couldn't tell what this stranger was thinking at all, and he made me feel on guard.

"Why are you inside on such a pretty day?"

"Well I could ask you the same thing" My defenses were raised, I had never seen this guy before.

"Woah, calm down... I am inside because there are too many people outside.... I have never really been used to crowds, or a large group of people..."

"oh... I am inside to do research while I can"

"While you can?" I noticed him lean closer and realized I had been speaking quietly.

"Well, my boyfriend... I just don't feel like I could do this research while he's around" Realization hit me, I had never actually voiced it, but I DID feel uncomfortable about telling him what I found.

"oh?" I heard him muffle a laugh "That doesn't seem like much of a relationship if you ask me.... What are you researching?"

I growled faintly, this guy just rubbed me the wrong way. "Well, do you know anything about the deaths of Heather and Louise Niall and the possible death of their son Blaike Niall?" He faintly raised his eyebrows before responding

"Yeah, actually I do... Why?"

"I need as much information as I can get..." I didn't feel comfortable about spilling my heart out to this random good looking stranger.

"What's wrong, don't trust me?" I could see a slight smirk forming on his lips.

"I trust you about as far as I can throw you, sir."

"did I strike a nerve?" he grinned

"Listen here, sir" I sneered "I don't have time for your harassment, so could you and your annoying voice, and ignorant self, get the hell away from me."

"Well then, I guess you don't want the address of the Niall house, do you?" He smirked more and I growled when I could tell he liked having a hold on me

"Go on" I grumbled and he sighed

"Oh but I'm ignorant aren't I?" he grinned "Hmm what was it? Maybe this ignorant brain of mine forgot.... Oh well, that's too bad for you isn't it? Maybe an oh please almighty sir bestow your knowledge upon me will help you"

I groaned before murmuring "Please"

"What was that? That didn't sound right"

I growled "Oh please almighty ignorant bastard tell me what you know before I snap your finger in half"

He laughed "Here I'll write it down for you" he found a piece of paper and wrote down the address.

"If you plan on going you should wait a little bit, it will be dark in a couple hours and there's a storm coming tomorrow" to my surprise he seemed genuinely concerned.

"Ok... do you know anything about the deaths?"

"Well" He was suddenly serious, his voice quiet and dark "It was an early December morning, the older son called the cops and the younger son was gone. I heard the two parents died side by side holding hands, all the plants in the room were found dead, similar to other deaths.... Around here.." he cleared his throat "Yeah uh, they all seemed to be natural accidents, funny huh? Some weird coincidence..." He laughed "Well I have to go, good bye short stack" When he stood up I noticed how tall he was, he was pretty powerful looking despite how thin he looked, which surprised me. At the moment his presence was large, like that one person you can easily spot in a crowd.

As he left I followed his movement with my eyes before I realized I hadn't gotten his name, I ran out of the library to find a quick moving crowd as people were moving to their cars and houses, buildings and restaurants of different sorts. Even in the fading crowd I couldn't spot him, the mysterious guy had vanished.
