Jesse's POV

Meleena was getting more and more needy everyday. Not that I minded, it was just slowly but surely scaring me. She has been having a lot of cravings and she's been crying over childish things but I guess that's what pregnant females do.

Wes has spotted many rogues, and I'm thinking of just taking all my of men and searching for all of the rogues in my territory. However I'm afraid that if Meleena is alone something bad will happen to her and that's the last thing I want. She was my responsibility in my eyes.

Mrs. McDoven tried to persuade me to go back to the pack house and deal with things other than Meleena. I just couldn't.

She was right of course but I just wanted Meleena safe and she's only safe with me by her side.

Tyler, Meleena's Dad, he was a very changed man. I've always thought that he'd be a wicked man, but I was wrong.

"Jess," I heard Meleena's voice whine.

"Yes?" I answered, turning over in the blankets that we were in.

"Why is the sky blue?" she asked.

"I don't know honestly. Space is black, but the sky is blue." I say. "Well I think it has something to do with the sun." I shrugged.

"Why the sun?"

"Well think about it, the earth spins away from the sun and when the earth spins once while it's going around the sun, that means a day has passed. So while our side of the earth is away from the sun, China is getting all the sun and stuff while we're getting nothing but darkness. The clouds in the sky is basically the clouds around earth and when we're facing away from the sun we see darkness-it's just a long complicated story Mel." I sighed.

"I get it." she giggled. "Jesse?"

"Yes?"

"Do you think there are others trying to take me away?" she frowned.

"Yes." I answered.

"What makes you so sure? What if there is some type of plan after the Rogue King?"

"Meleena don't worry about it. You're going to be safe at all times." I said.

"Tell me," she frowned.

"Mel, everything is fine. You're going to be okay." I sighed.

"Jesse!" she whined.

"Calm down," I gripped her waist gently.

She suddenly became emotional and began to cry.

"Baby why are you crying?" I wiped her tears.

"Because I told you that I wasn't ready to be pregnant because people were after me, Jesse. How am I supposed to be happy when people want to take me from you?" cried Meleena.

"No one is going to take you from me! Stop saying that! I won't let it happen and neither will anyone else!" I growled.

She only cried in her pillow, I stood up and walked out of the room.

"Tired of this shit," I mumbled to myself as I walked down the stairs.

"Alpha, are you okay?" Paris asked.

"I'm fine." I said before exiting the house. I walked to my car and decided to go to my Mom's house.

She was always a good person to talk to, in any situation.

I sped down the street, making a left. Thoughts of Meleena crying made me want to turn around and apologize for leaving.

I pulled into my Mom's driveway and got out the car, after shutting it off of course.
