Chapter 30. The Conclusion
I found myself lying on the sand beach. I looked around and saw the whole ocean stretched before me. W-wait, was I back in Cielo del Tierra? Was everything just a dream, then?
I got up and started to look for Alex. Where the hell was he? Did he leave again to meet another girl? But speaking of Alex, was it also a dream of us getting together? B-but why? I mean, what's going on? Everything felt real though. My heart still screamed his name so it wasn't just a dream.
"Alex!" I shouted and my voice just echoed out over and over again. Wait. Echo?! In beach? Weird. But I called again anyway. "ALEXANDER?!" Ugh seriously, this guy.
And then I heard someone crying. "Mom?" I asked to nobody.
"This is all your fault! You should've loosened up a little bit!" I heard my mom said. Who was she talking to? And where was she?
"Mom?! Where are you?" I asked. "Mom! Dad!"
"I'm sorry. I am to blame in all of this..."
Was that Dad? Why can I hear them talking? Where were they?
I started walking around and failed to find anybody. I found myself calling for Alex again just in case he can hear me. "Alex!"
And then silence.
SUMMER ESCAPADE
I slowly opened my eyes. My eyelids felt so heavy I couldn't lift them. And there's this blinding lights that kept me from seeing my surrounding clearly. It's hard to see around. I think I saw Alex standing at the door so I called him out. "Alex!" but I barely heard my voice.
"Oh, Jasmine, sweetie!" It was my Mom's voice.
But before I could say anything, blackness once again took over.
SUMMER ESCAPADE
"Oh, god, you're awake!" My mom said the first thing when I was finally able to open my eyes waking up.
"Mom?" I asked. "Where am I?" I asked not familiar with my view.
"You're in a hospital room," she answered.
Oh that explains the weird smell.
And then I remembered what happened in the airport. "Mom!" I said startling her. "Where's Alex? Is he okay?"
She was taken aback by my question. "H-He's fine. You did well in covering him with yourself," it was a sarcastic remark but I was relieved all the same. I even muttered "Thank god."
"Why would you that?" she asked.
"I just felt heroic, Mom," I said answering her with sarcasm.
"You got us even more worried. Do you love him that much you'd risk your life?" she asked.
I nodded in reply. But I felt uncomfortable talking about my love life in this situation so I asked her where's Dad.
"He's outside---" and speaking of, the door opened with him stepping inside the room. "Oh, here he is. Honey, look, Jasmine's awake."
Dad looked at me immediately and rushed to my other side. "Jasmine?"
"Hey," I said.
"Thank God you're awake," he said. It sounded sincere. Well, he's my father after all. He went to kiss my forehead.
