Also, if you miss the smut, I've got you in chapter 20 (who doesn't love make-up sex? Everyone does, right?)

Harry looked at the guy in front of him (his name was Nick, apparently) as if he'd seen a ghost, and Niall had yet to understand that that was the case, and that he had indeed seen a ghost. A ghost of his past, to be exact.

'Harry? Harry, are you okay?' Niall asked, waving his hand in front of his boyfriend's face.

The guy, Nick, laughed and said: 'Don't bother trying, boy. Your precious Harry there is hiding. And he does not want to be found.'

Then, he walked out without another word, leaving Niall to deal with Harry, frozen and stone cold.

'Harry! Harry! Come on! Harry!'

Harry seemed to come back to this world as he blinked a few times, slapping his own cheeks to wake up. He then stared around in fear, but once he realized the man had disappeared, he relaxed and leaned back in his chair.

'Harry? What the fuck just happened?'

Harry's breath hitched, as if he had been planning to just ignore the entire situation. He then look Niall in the eye, his own hazel eyes a darker shade brown than Niall had ever seen them before.

'It was nothing, Niall.'

Yeah, of course. And Niall was the Queen of England. God save the freaking Queen.

Niall didn't believe a word Harry said, but he was unsure whether he should just keep asking for an answer until he got one, or drop the entire situation for Harry's sake. Harry was still very pale, and Niall really didn't want to upset him. They had been having a good time. Where did it go wrong?

From the moment that Nick guy appeared.

And yes, Niall did want to know who he was.

'Harry, we both know it wasn't nothing. Who was he? How does he know you? Why did he say those horrible things?'

Harry groaned out at Niall's question, almost slamming his head against the table of agitation.

'Just drop it, okay? He isn't important, Niall, and I really don't feel like answering all of your questions right now.'

Niall felt hurt at the annoyed tone Harry used, but he decided to just let it slip. For now, at least. He wasn't going to throw a fight and scream at Niall in a restaurant, during their date.

'Okay,' he said softly.

Harry nodded softly, placing his head in his hands.

'I've got a headache. I want to go home.'

Niall nodded, even though he didn't agree at all. He had been happy only a few minutes ago, and now they were here. His boyfriend not talking to him, at least not really. Not the truth.

'Okay, let me drive. This fucking date is ruined now anyway.'

Harry didn't even bother to object about the driving part, and he didn't scold Niall for swearing. It hurt, because it felt like he didn't care about Niall at all, just because that guy showed up. He was way too busy with that to even think about Niall.

Niall left some cash on their table, way too much for their meals, but he didn't feel like waiting for a waiter to tell him how much he owned them. As he put the money on the table, he thought about how this had been a date, and about how Harry was going to pay.
